in for help.
I tried ebay selling on the side for a little bit, and did end up getting some good sales... but where do i find inventory?
all my listings are on white back drops, taken with my DSL camera. ( i could use a better lighting set up though)
i tired getting stuff from goodwill and selling it on ebay, but the only stuff i could ever get to sell was sewing machines really, and i dried up all the goodwills of sewing machines. +rep for help

all the stuff at goodwill where I live is pure crap, srs
dealers hang around them like vultures
finding items you can flip for profit is hard, and its the #1 thing you have to search for 24/7 to have a chance at making coin
ie: I buy a gameboy advance or nintendo dsi lite for 50 bucks in real life, from someone on craigslist/kijiji. Think about that. You want to sell it on ebay for profit? Well you need to ship it to someone first. Where I live personally that will cost me about 11-13 bucks and ebay wants 10% of that. So I charge 14 shipping. Ebay also wants 10% of the sale price, so if I bought it for 50 I need to sell it for 55 to break even. Then factor in gas I paid (5 bucks) to go pick it up, plus time out of my day. Say I want 10 bucks profit for one item.
I bought it for 50, I have to sell it for (50 + 15) * 1.1 + 14 or 85 bucks to cover your gas, ebay fees and 10 bucks profit margin.
Of course its possible, people do it all the time but you need to look at completed listings to get prices (what things are worth on ebay) then think about total cost to the buyer, think about fees and think about making a profit yourself.
Its hard, keep grinding. Go craigslist categories for deals, and almost never buy things at asking price, you need to haggle people down.

The nice thing about amazon is you can post your chit up once and it stays. They email you when it sells. I've sold 3 books this week from my collection, but I have my small DVD collection up too and getting sales? not even once.
Can't harm to post your stuff up there as well. Fees seem higher though, I think 15% of total price + shipping AND a fee on top.
But if you sell a book, they credit you 6.49 for the shipping whether the book is big or small. So you can make money on the small books but lose money on the big ones. At least thats Amazon Canada I don't know about US brahs.

you buy iphones and sell them all on craigslist? with shipping and ebay 10% fees and how stable prices are I cant see profit there but thats me.
if you make 1000/week are you investing 10k? you have never been robbed/stabbed/ripped off making buys alone with 500 in cash? a kid got his ass kicked and stabbed and robbed for 2000 bucks here over a failed kijiji buy (seriously who brings 2000 cash anywhere, but still)

What is it with people watching my buy it now items? Do they just want to see if it sells? Or do they think I'm going to lower the price at the last minute? No thanks

Think im going to take a break from ebay. It has completely taken away my focus of relocating out of this **** hole and back to my "home" and finding a new job out there. Ill be next to a MUCH better post office that isnt full of dumbasses and will have the drive to do this full force again. Right now im just pushing along and not really getting much done. Been slacking so much on getting 15+ packages out a week that im falling behind and having to blow through LOADS of money to get them all out. Im going to go back to the drawing board and research more options on items that bring in money that are easily attainable without having to meet up with strangers all day.

JUST SOLD MY 1ST ITEM!!!!
Feels pretty good man. Ebay is saying that I need to ship it today, but Paypal says that the funds may not be available for up to 21 days, because the buyer might find issues with the product. Is this normal? Paypal is also saying the funds are still pending. ship or wait?
The buyer has a 100% rating and has 27 transactions................
Thanks for all the help for a newbie!

Hi, went to that auction.....and what a waste of gas money! It was my first auction and am not sure if this is how it normally works but it would go like this.
Brand new gerber knife, costs 20$ brand new. Guy would start auction at 100$ and work his way down, until someone put a bid then worked his way back up. 20$ knife sold for 40$.
Went this way with every item.. 55 inch tv on sale at future shop for 699.99 ....people ate it up for 900$
It went this way for 3 hours. After seeing people throw away their money on over priced laptops, tablets, art, and gadgets i just left. Didn't even raise my number once. Brother came with me, not a flipper but even he knew people were overpaying like crazy.
