Went backpacking in Europe for a month...
Brb, how much did I spend on train tickets (and how many times did I barely catch the train)
Brb, crowded and touristy as fuark
Brb, illegal immigrants and gypsies trying to scam/pickpocket me around every corner
Brb, sprained ankle on cobble stones trying to look at map while walking.
Brb, people are shady as fuk towards Americans
Brb, spent more time in lines at airport/train/bus stations and monuments than I did actually enjoying the scenery
Brb brb brb could go on.
Live and learn at least. I will say I met some awesome travelers like myself who weren't part of the tourist cattle. I will say *some* things lived up to the hype, aka Colosseum, London Tower Bridge, Mediterranean coastline hiking/swimming.
Otherwise, I'll just travel the US and stay safe in my bubble.
How do people do this for 2-3-4-5-6 months and even years???

I think to enjoy traveling you have to either enjoy meeting new people, seeing sights, and new experiences. Seems like that's not for you, but most people love traveling lol

-Travelling the world
-Spending a lot of time in cities
Pick one.
City hopping is not seeing the world.Into- Mountaineering, running & Djent/Progressive music.

travelling is one thing I wish I did more of, I still haven't been on a vacation anywhere exotic. I do live in a beautiful city though with great places to hike and see. Colombia next year will be my first real getaway and I plan on going there for a couple weeks.

The people who are genuine about tavelling the world are the ones that don't post ********/insta updates every 20 mins during their travels. I'm convinced the majority of young people 'traveling the world' are just doing as a tick-box exercise, not really in the moment and mainly doing it for the gram

Before you go to a country, know why you're going there and what you need to see. Buy maps at home or know where you can buy them in the place you're going to. Before you leave in the morning plan out the way. If a place is going to be busy, go super early so you'll beat everyone else.
If you can, go to the furthest location first and then visit all the other places on the walk back. That way you get a nice long walk in the start of the day and put yourself in a good mood by the time you start sightseeing.
Whenever you get to a location you intend on visiting, take your photos and get out of there to the next place. I explored the whole of Munich in one day through all of the above.Into- Mountaineering, running & Djent/Progressive music.

Been all over the world, can honestly say some okay sites however Yosemite and west coast beaches are king and they're located in good ole' USA.
Pyramids and nile river cruise was probably the most interesting thing overseas tbh as most Europe has the same chitty architecture with the same goofy churches at every corner.★cVc★ Waterboarding - Baptizing terrorists with Freedom since 02'

This,
also adhering to a strict schedule can be just as stressful as staying home and going to work....which defeats the whole purpose of going on a vacation to relax. When I get time to travel i'd rather just relax. and look at nature chit, not wandering around a densely packed city looking at old buildings. By the end of next year, I plan on going to New Zealand to just hike trails and try different foods, lol.
