That speaker weight is brilliant!! Wow, some of the stuff people come up with is inspiring to say the least!
I like the dip belt too. It reminds of what I use for my RH strap. Ain't no way I'm paying $30-$50 for something I can get at the hardware store for about $6.00. lol-!!!---!!!- No Excuses Homemade Equipment Crew #12 -!!!---!!!- Hardnheavy2011

I'm a dab hand with a needle and thread.
...actually its just a 1 metre lifting sling used in construction/auto/transport trades. Its 90mm wide which spreads the weight nicely on your back. The ridiculous weight limit is only a fraction of what its tested to, so it is damn strong and well up to the task.My training log:

Thats a big ask for a DIY project but I too would like to see some pics of that. Heres a link that goes about it a slightly different way from the norm. This is one of the most inspirational blogs on the net for homemade gear. http://tsampa.org/training/blog/archives/2005/07/ (scroll to the bottom for decline bench setup).

I made this FID bench a few years ago, but being that I already have a separate leg extension machine, I didn't put one on. It would be fairly easy to do, but I'm not a big fan of extensions. lol Being that I don't have any dumbbells, I don't believe I've ever used this thing. It's looks nice taking up space. LOL

Here's a few shots of it without padding/upholstery and another shot of just the frame.

Great bench HNH, I like the design. How did you manage to work out all the angles for it?

Really it was just trail and error on the angles. I did a lot of cutting and spot welding until the angles all worked out. I didn't make very many of these because it was one of my more time consuming pieces. :/ I could actually make a RH much faster than this thing. LOL

I have set myself the challenge of building a leg press-esque machine for as little as possible. I have also decided that it shall have a footprint of less than 2 square metres and be foldable to save space!!!
I have a few ideas in my head at the moment.New Evolution shat on me

Bloody hell fishpat, is that even possible? What style are you going for; sled, leverage, or one of those ones you get underneith? Are you making this out of wood? I can't wait to see this mate, this may just be worth a trip to cambridge to try it out.

I'm sure you know what you are doing with this, but keep in mind that if you are limiting the mechanical advantage, then you will have to beef it up a lot if using wood.

Quick setup chain hanger
Here's another one I posted in a different thread.
It's a chain hanger rig that gives you quick setup for any chain starting height you want. You can leave the rig connected to your bar even for lifts where you don't used chains. With a fish scale you can easily weight the chain load at differing heights.
The key hardware part is a "Rope Ratchet" which is rated at 150 lb working load.
Please excuse my wimpy chain - demo purposes only.
