Missy and Derek are lifting in an Oly meet this weekend, A pal of ours from Cincy is coming in today and will be lifting also.

Next weekend, Amy will be lifting along with Derek again at the USAPL state meet

Ahmed, Deanna and I leave for Chicao 2nd weekend of May for equipped natls and then about 10 days later I leave for Japan.

this week hit 315kg squat, 255 bench in loose shirt and pulled 270 this morning belt only. That beats the total of last years winner who will be competing.

Deanna, Ahmed and I compete the weekend of May 10th. Deanna Saturday and us guys Sunday.

As it stands, these are the openers. 290-235-250, I believe that is the total last years champ totaled at worlds. 310 and 320 for 2nd and 3rd on squat, 250 and 255/260 for bench, 270 and 280 for pull. Around 850 is what I'm hoping for. If that wins it, then I'll have about 16 full weeks to train for worlds.

I think it's May 20 that I get on a plane for Japan. I am at the point where I''ll be glad to get this done. It's been alot with the gym, the new construction and simply our schedule. Bench only is deuces for me after this one. If I can podium at worlds, it'll be quite a feather in my cap.

After that, I buckle down and train hopefully for worlds.

Construction. Pad and retaining wall are complete. We have it where once it's framed and dried in, we should have just a bit over 800 square feet of additional gym space.

Just when I think I have a busy life....you post and I am reminded that I have no excuses. I'm excited about Japan for you. Please tell me you like sushi.

Asking a fat guy if he likes anything...But, yes, I love sushi. Not rolls, sushi.

I will tell you, when I stepped down as the chairman of the board for the SPF, I really thought things would slow down. I thought I'd be a less meets and travel would really pull back. I was wrong. So far this year we've probably been gone on the weekends more than at home and always for a meet or contest. Saturdays are now the busiest of the week. I'm totally humbled by this and it's only taken years of building to get here but, while I'm spent most weekends, we are really blessed. I will say that I'm ready for a break. The training is tough with the schedule and I'm not getting any younger. I have to pay attention to not over due things. Hopefully, I can pull this together, get a few podiums before I'm done.

there are several distilleries there. Kirin owns Four Roses and makes a Super Premium there that you can only get in Japan. Yes, I do have it and yes, it is really good. Hibiki SUntory is the distillery of the whiskey you tried here. I don't recall who does the Yam. You tried 12 year when you were here and I have a bottle of Toki as well. The Japanese whiskey is not really my thing, but, I have had a few that are really, really good.

I'm still getting the groove of the suit. The suit I used int eh qualifier was a used suit that is a size smaller than this one but, it's still tight and I haven't done tons of reps in it. Once I get back from IPF worlds, I'll get into the tighter suit. It may yet require a different suit as we dial in what I need. I really want to take a run at 335-350 this year.

Depends on the mash bill on the burn.

I prefer the higher rye blends and higher proof whiskey but, it's not for everyone.
