Had me tired pretty quickly. The walkout was smooth but I didn't stand there long before I walked back to the pins.
Back was pretty sore later.
Gotta take some damn singlet pics.
I forgot Tuesday. I'm gonna pull deads saturday in it. But I usually train alone on weekends.

You can always 1/4 squat your way into the record books with the SPF meets in knoxville
Yeah I'm gonna stick with em. I've got a strongman contest that I'm also training for. And it involves a yoke. I don't really have any other way to train for that event, other than to get used to walking with heavy ass weight on my back. Figured this was my best chance at getting comfortable.

Overhead 3's week
I was fairly happy with my workout but my shoulder was bothering me at the end so assistance was a little short.
Warmup:
Equiblock
Band pull aparts
Band rows
Shoulder dislocations
Box jumps: triples with 30, 36 and 40.
Strict press 65x10 95x6
Push press:
115x5
125x3
130x3
140x10 PR I think my previous best was 1355x8 or so
Switched to neutral grip bar:
5 sets of 85x10
Assistance:
About 50 pullups. Energy was lacking today and my left shoulder was giving me trouble.
1 set of pendlay rows which irritated shoulder
3 sets of rows with mini and monster mini band.
Called it after that. Rain prevented me from getting any conditioning in. I still feel like I got a good workout; but I was exhausted afterward.

It's a bit more wobbly but you could always rig up a chain yoke on your barbell. It won't be exactly like a yoke but it is better than walkouts.
What is your yoke weight for the contest??
Do you have any loading pins??
You are a badass

The WSM Amateur Series posted contest weights on their sites, and they're pretty awful. Way too light in my opinion. I'm a year into serious training and I feel confident I'll be able to handle any of them.
The yoke weight is etierh 350 or 375 and it's a 20-25 meter walk.
I've actually thought about dangling the farmers handles from the ends of the bar. I feel like it'd end badly haha. Spud Inc has some straps on Elite that almost mimic a low squat bar, you can load the straps with plates, then they hang like a foot lower than the bar. Changes the center of gravity nicely.
Thank you sir. My overheads are horribly weak, and I didn't feel great about my first two sets, but decided to sack up and do work on my last set. The numbers suck, but I'm making progress. Shoulder is killing me now though, had to put equiblock on before bed.
You've converted me to the dark side. I'm rubbing horse linement on my like it's gold bond.

Honestly, to prepare for a yoke that light, just squat LOL

Seriously. I feel like my biggest mistake will either be running with it and doing a 5 second 40 with it on my back, or being too conservative when I can pretty much storm down the course.
Thanks man. I don't feel like my shoulders are really getting much stronger. I think I'm just becoming more efficient with leg drive.
I've definitely got some type of issue with my left delt and possible my RC. Gonna start doing more rehab/prehab work.

Deadlifts 3's week
I had a pretty good workout Saturday despite having some back soreness and being worn out.
Warmup
I count the 3 hours of cutting firewood. I'll call it "light stone training".
Slammed a monster and headed home.
I did some rows with bands to warm up my back.
Band stomps for my hips.
Deadlifts
135x5
Pulled from 3-4 inches of foam
135x5
185x5
225x5
Working Sets
250x3
260x3
285x10
Boring But Big (pulled first 4 sets sumo but my platform sucks and I started to lose my footing)
185x10 for 5 sets
Belt Squats
2 sets of 45#x12
Conditioning
4 trips of sled drags. Longer trips than usual
Prehab/Rehab
Worked on my shoulder a bit.
Did shoulder protractions/retractions using DBs for sets of 12-15.
Shoulder dislocations.
Band Pull Aparts.
And a shoulder rotation that I can think of the name of.
One of the best workouts I've had lately. Felt good and felt strong.

That's why I added em in. I needed accessory work that wasn't going to destroy my back too much.
I've been switching between upper back problems and lower back problems, so I wanted something to work my legs without sitting weight on my back.
I've been trying to get creative with bands too, and figured out a decent hamstring curl with them.

It was about 30 degrees and windy. lol. pretty awful.
I almost would call it conditioning, carrying 50 pound logs up hills and to the truck for a straight hour gets your heart going
Looking forward to benching today. I made a 2 and 3 board for pressing, so I'm gonna overload a bit and try for 225 off the 2 board and see how it feels.

Thanks man. I went through my old workout logs in the basement last night and was blown away at how clueless I was, when I thought I knew exactly what I was doing. I think I was squatting 150ish for 5 in September of 2010. Now that is my first warmup set I've had great support from people on here, and had some logs to motivate me along the way. 2011 was a great year, and I feel like 2012 is going to bring even more progress.
I was getting ready to stick my head into your log and ask about NY. I bet you're stoked.
Crazy weekend of games.
Coming over there now to talk.

Cleaning up the diet this week and my days will rougly look like below.
Haven't added all my macros, but by the time I get home from work I'll have easily had 100 grams of protein.
So I just need to get another 60-100 in the afternoon, which is easy with dinner and cottage cheese.
No I don't believe in meal timing or any stuff like that, I eat often because I like to. I'd rather have 6 small meals than 3 big ones.
Breakfast (at 7:00)
1 cup Raisin Bran
1 cup milk (varies from whole to 2%)
2 boiled eggs
Morning Snack (at 9:00)
1 boiled egg
1 cup 2% Milk
Hold me over till lunch snack (at 10)
Carrotts
1 TBS peanut butter
Lunch @ 11
Chicken Breast
Brown Rice
Broccoli
(baught all of these in bulk)
Snack (at 1:00)
1 Can of Tuna
Preworkout carbs (at 3:00)
Oatmeal with Cinnamon
Dinner
1 meet
1 clean source of carbs (either rice or wheat pasta)
1 veggie
Then I'll allow myself to snack on fruit or veggies.
Before Bed
Cottage cheese or Whey (if i buy some)
Trying to keep things "clean" and avoid eating out. (TWSS)
