Reddit's cracking down on all stream links apparently. Big discussion about it in another thread the other day saying expect bad news after the dust settles regarding links.

They will all move somewhere else shortly and pick up where they left off. What happened to that other site that streamed hockey games from all leagues?

I know Reddit is doing their thing with the posting of stream links but I think when this app fails it's an NHL thing as Reddit has no way to shut down the functionality of the app.

The problem is I would gladly pay the NHL $1k a year if I could just watch all the freaking games but they blackout every game involving the Sabres, Devils, Islanders, and Rangers in my area... as well as every National game, so I can never see the playoffs. Their blackout TV contracts are archaic and need to be addressed as people change the way they consume media.

I'm with you, they always say they want to grow the sport yet are so far behind in what is going to be or already is the future of sports in streaming services. Hockey streams was a perfect model, you could get any game with either home or away feeds in the resolution your internet/tv could handle. No blackouts ever, and you could watch AHL games that were being broadcast, which is a great way to watch some of your teams prospects.

I'm sure the contracts with cable networks are tricky and right now they can not abandon cable entirely. hopefully they realize that cable is not a sustainable model or else they are going to **** themselves hard in the not to distant future. Right now they should be getting an app running on Roku, Firestick, Chromecast etc. that gives full access to the entire league. If you want to build up your superstars you have to make them accessible and not just on "rivalry night".
