Is anyone else noticing a drop in quality as of late with your favorite breweries?

I've noticed alot more generic tasting beers. What really annoys me is all the hazy IPA's on the market. I love the style, but way too many and 90% are garbage. Also, here in western Washington/Seattle, there is a HUGE surge in Pilsners being brewed. I have no idea why, especially in the winter time. I would like to see more darker lager styles being brewed like Dunkel's and Bock's.

With some breweries, yes. I’ve been lucky to still have Burial killing it with their ipas and stouts still. But lately some normally good breweries seem watery. My guess is popularity created larger batches that watered down the product.

What is your opinion on pastry stouts and smoothie-style sours?
At one of the local beer stores, pretty much those two styles and IPA's are only in their refrigerators.
How are they different from regular stouts/Imperial stouts?"I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out."

Smoothie sours are made with unfermented fruit which will explode the can if it hits room temp for too long. So they need to be in the cooler for sure. I had one explode once, not pretty. The entire top of the can blew upward and I had to repaint my ceiling.
I am guessing the ipas are there cold because they sell well. Pastry stouts can have milk, cream and other ingredients that hold the flavor better if kept cold.Your nutrition and workout program determines your success.

(Reuters) - A San Diego federal jury said Friday that Molson Coors must pay craft brewery Stone Brewing $56 million for causing consumer confusion with ads for its Keystone brand.
Molson Coors' branding infringes Stone Brewing's "Stone" trademark, the jury said after a three-week trial. It also found that Molson Coors did not infringe purposefully.
I knew there was a lawsuit, I had no idea it was for that much money.
I never drink Stone anymore."I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out."

Sapporo U.S.A. to Acquire Stone Brewing
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sapporo U.S.A., maker of the number one selling Asian beer brand in the United States, and Stone Brewing, one of America’s largest and most innovative craft beer brands, have reached an agreement for Sapporo U.S.A. to acquire Stone Brewing. Supporting both business’ long-term growth strategies in the U.S. market, the transaction is expected to close in August 2022.
I'm kind of surprised they haven't been bought out sooner.

I read about that as well and Modern Times was bought as well but it's being disputed right now.
I'm with you, I've been drinking more wine and whiskey these days. I do enjoy a good beer on tap when I'm out but I don't buy that many at all. Last 6 pk I bought was Avery Kaiser last year.Official Supp. Misc Beer Crew

Anyone done with smoothie sours? I still enjoy one occasionally but damn are they massively bloating. I can barely tolerate the thick ones that have a ton of fruit. I had one from 450 North that was stupid delicious but had me looking like a bloated fat man on the beach.

Craft beers glory days are behind us. IMO, from here on out it'll be slow trickle new breweries opening, coming to new markets and beer trends will not move so rapidly. Older established breweries are selling aka Stone and others. Their fight to remain relevant and keep up their energy has fizzled or it's fizzled to me. Any idea what the next beer trend will be or what the emerging one is? We've had the Westy 12 Trappist hay days that progressed to stouts, barrel aged stouts, adjunct barrel aged stouts, sours, hazy ipa's and smoothie beers. What's next?

I'm already seeing adds for Oktoberfest beers. Founders is advertising a barrel aged one this season. Pilsners/lighter styles are seeing a little up tick bus as you said, it could be due to summer time.
Cold IPA's? Please elaborate, haven't heard of that one.Official Supp. Misc Beer Crew
