They're really only comparable to desktop counterparts by TFLOPS since console GPU's have lower clock speeds & TDP & share system RAM
TFLOPS is a worthless measurement for gaming performance
-PS4 has a Radeon 7850 from 2011 architecture
-PS4 pro has a Radeon RX470(weaker than gtx 1060 3GB) which is 2015 architecture
-PS5 has a lower-spec'd Nvidia 1080 from 2016
I suggest you wait to build a PC until the prices normalize again, once they do you'll be able to surpass a PS5's gaming performance for the same or less money*Tolerance is the lube that slides the dildo of dysfunction into the ass of civilized society*

A desktop 3060ti blows the new xbox out of the water, you'll be happy
A GTX 1080 performs between a 2060-2070 in speed
A GTX 1080ti is between a 2070-2080 and usually trades blows with a 2080
There's a reason most people skipped Turing, they're not really upgrades over Pascal
Microsoft & Sony are running 2016 speeds in their 2020 consoles, they screwed up big time not waiting for Ampere & Navi like the rest of us
They've been launching dated hardware since the PS3 & suckers fall for it*Tolerance is the lube that slides the dildo of dysfunction into the ass of civilized society*

ive heard over a year, hence my purchase, im no redditor but very thankful my friend is, because Id still be fukked. It is really hard to buy computer parts, when I bought my pre built the guy said "holy crap didnt see this, people will buy this and sell the card"
There was 9 left when I called, when I hung up they were gone.

I believe it. It started in summer 2020, I suspect it will be 2022 before parts are readily available again
They put last generation's zen 2 in, you can't really compare custom parts found in consoles to desktops like I mentioned but if you want to it's essentially a 3700x CPU & 5700 non-XT GPU in the PS5
It's all a moot point, you save initial bux by going with a console but you're stuck with the same hardware for 7+ years while PC's make sick kunt GPU gains every year to keep up with the latest games so soyboy Timmy can have his 500fpsLast edited by blissful88; 03-03-2021 at 02:10 AM.

Per DFs latest on the PS5, though this appears to be software dependant:
"First of all, RTX 2060 Super is 20 per cent slower than PlayStation 5, dropping to 10 per cent with an RTX 2070 Super. Based on tests with a 2080 Ti, it looks like a 2080 Super or RTX 3060 Ti would be required to match or exceed PlayStation 5's output. However, based on my tests with a Navi-based RX 5700, I'd expect a 5700 XT to get within striking distance of the console's throughput"
Sorry for Reddit, but sometimes it's the easiest way to source information quickly: https://www.reddit.com/r/PS5/comment...m_source=share
Series X runs as good as anywhere between a 2060 Super to a 2080, depending on the title, according to this Neogaf article: https://www.neogaf.com/threads/digit...super.1576945/
Console hardware is a little difficult to track because it's tailored to a specific purpose but in general you're getting 4k/60 on 99% of titles (I believe that's the benchmark) and floating between a 2060 Super and a 2080 GPU, depending on the title. The load times (NVMe) and CPU performance is excellent thus far in personal experience though.***Mariah Carey is my 10/10 Crew***

Clicking on this thread made me release Blissfull deleted his recent thread? Just lmfao
That's I think the same analysis I posted in the now missing Blissfull thread, lmao. 40k 60 is definitely the standard and appears easily done by the majority of devs. Looks like 4k 30 w/ RT and 1440P 60 w/ RT as more games implement Raytracing. Very good, nice step up and a gap closer to PC, but that gap to top end GPUs is still huge and I really still want more personally. PS5Pro can't come soon enough for me.

hard to "measure" but one things certain, these next gen consoles finally came to play and is just going to advance PC gaming further, cause last gen consoles were so badly spec'd.
tflops as measurements mean nothing when a rtx 2080ti (about 13 tflops) is equal in performance to the new rtx 3070 (about 20 tflops)
also vega 64 measursing at 12 tflops but slightly under performs like a gtx 1080 at 8.9 tflops*** Free Thinker Crew ***

Cost analysis is a simple enough reason.
Because I ****ing want one is another.
Dated hardware that still cost less to get the GPU, Hard Drive, Blu-Ray disk drive than it does simply the equivalent PC counterpart.
You guys really ****ing suck at cost analysis, eh?***Mariah Carey is my 10/10 Crew***

From the research I gathered (which was a lot since I just spent a month looking for a GPU and paid a scalper 10% over retail for one) all of the AMDs and Nvidias inventory has already been released to retailers and they aren't making more anytime soon just releasing different lower tier cards. This GPU shortage has just begun and will probably peak sometime around Q3 this year with new inventory coming in Q4. If you haven't found a card yet then gooodluck. Even high medium tier stuff is selling for $1k minimum. Best buy has even updated their SKUs to show higher prices on stuff they plan to release but it wont be any meaningful inventory until Q4. This is basically it for now barring a crypto crash which is very unlikely. This shortage may end Summer 2022 and that would be the earliest.
