My neighbor had it. He lost 20 something pounds (not an obese couch potato). His wife and MIL (lives with them) also had it and they spent time in the hospital. He rattled off a list of multiple other people he knew that had it, several hospitalized. My "almost uncle" has it right now.
Already some in this thread claiming it is fake.

It wasnt that new Chevrolet Covid?
At this point I dont give AF.. im not interested in participating in this over hyped , politicized FLU... im not wearing a mask because obviously they dont work if the numbers are "trending up"... im not locking down because that worked ever so well the first time didnt it?... I am not going above and beyond to "social distance" any more or less than I would have prior to this , which consequently I never liked mthrfkrs in my sphere of solitude anyways so it naturally worked itself out...
If I catch the sniffles im not going to go get tested... Im not getting a vaccine that was created in months...
Just done with it... If everybody else would like to live their life in fear and allow the gUverNMent to take more and more control of your freedoms and liberties... because covid ... then do you BooBoo!!

lol ok, based on your chart, more die from the seasonal flu, EVERY YEAR, than the entire vietnam war.
what does that have to do with anything.
Total deaths this year are average. Covid displaced the deaths in other categories. You could have 8 contributing factors and die covid positive - thats a covid death.
covid is a nothingburger

Ah it's a little bit hoping to move the needle a little closer toward unity (tough if you can't even agree on how many people are dead) and a little bit hoping to slow down the drop off in traffic here.
If you lost someone from this would you want to hang out in a place where everyone is hollering that it's all fake or that the people who died "deserved it" or don't count because they were old?INTP Crew

Dying from vs. dying with.
Average age of death higher than life expectancy.
No increase in total deaths.
Relentless suppression of real information and science that doesn't further evil political agendas.
Government reaction causing immeasurable, generational destruction of lives.
Calling it fake or a hoax is hyperbole, but it's closer to the truth than the official narrative. Unless you work in geriatric care, you wouldn't even know about it if nobody powerful had anything to personally gain. They got little baby legs that stand so low

My father contracted Covid twice and is a long-hauler (similar to cases in the 60 minutes special). He is alive but truly hanging by a thread, under 60 and a totally different person now. He became very frail and sick and while no longer is infected is still very sick.
He is a lead engineer but can now barely do basic math, he’s out on disability until he hopefully recovers or has to resign.
He and I were super anti-Covid in the beginning but the truth is we are all selfish and care little what happens to the world around us, so long as our immediate family is safe.
I think it is unfortunate but was inevitable this has become a political issue.Posts are for fun, not to be taken seriously or as truth.

240k total deaths in US
Under 44 years old - only 7k deaths
Under 54 years old - only 19k deaths
under 64 years old - only 49k deaths
80% of the deaths are people over 65 years old. This is official CDC data.
58% of the deaths are people over 75 years old. The life expectancy in the US is 78 years old. The majority of the deaths are past the life expectancy in the US.
lol at OP comparing numbers from historic wars where 99% of the deaths were under 30.

COVID IS a "hoax", in the sense that it's NOT a "pandemic". It is a rather severe flu. As others on here have mentioned, the death numbers have been SEVERELY inflated.
Here are two videos, demonstrating how they have recklessly inflated the COVID death toll: 1.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGHp1GdOD4k

Yeah, not sure I understand why people call it fake.
I agree with people that say it’s been politicized, that it’s not nearly as dangerous as once thought (or some people still think), the numbers are probably exaggerated, the masks probably aren’t as effective as they claim, the economy definitely shouldn’t be shut down, that “permanent damage” exists for a year-old virus can’t be proven, etc. I’m certainly not afraid of getting the virus.
But you can’t deny that it’s more deadly than the flu. You can’t deny that people who would normally be fine from the flu are getting very sick and potentially dealing with long term issues.
Cliffs: Flu folks and panicles are both misplaced.Horny.

This is one of my biggest talking points. The amount of people who die every year from poor life choices like smoking and obesity which lead to cancers, diabetes, lung disease, heart attacks....list goes on..... is astronomical. Don't hear much of a peep from anyone about all that.

What Ratfish said above
It's real but the way the media portrays this "pandemic" is way out of control.
This virus killed on the high end around 0.016% of the world's population. The hype makes it seem like this is the 2nd coming of the Black Death or small pox.rumpler of stiltskins

We know the pcr cycles for a positive were adjusted to make the test more sensitive aka - more false positives. Even WITH that manipulation, the data doesnt support the lockdowns. Even with mislabeled covid deaths, the data still doesnt support the economic destruction.
It is clear as day the media misrepresents the data and presents it in a handpicked way to scare the viewers. This is why they love "total cases" and "total deaths", those are numbers that only go up, the number will always be larger than the last time they showed you.
They dont tell you that 80% of the deaths were 65 years old and older. They dont tell you that the majority of the deaths were past the US life expectancy. We dont have honest journalism in the US anymore, we have North Korean style propaganda machines.

Coming on the misc and claiming that everyone is calling it fake is kind of ridiculous imo. Outside of troll accounts and morons, the majority of miscers are acknowledging this for exactly what it is: a stronger flu. That's not a bad comparison. The Flu sucks when it hits you right.
There is a lot of scattered, unverified, and subjective information out there...
-False Positives -False Negatives -2nd/3rd/4th tier sources-Unverified statistics -Asymptomatic Cases-Postponing of Flu Statistics
There is only one source that stays solid throughout this whole thing, and that is the simple googling of cases and deaths. Its the most trusted thing, and here is where we are at:
The photo you posted puts the death percentage at 1.98%(edit: in the US)
2 weeks ago? 2.1%.. A few weeks before? 2.3%..A couple months prior to that? 2.7%..A couple months before? 3...and 4...and 5 I think is where it caps
I just don't see the sense in overblowing a virus with a proven, countinuously downward trending death rate. There will always be outliers, and that is a sad part of life, but there are also positive outliers where 100+ year olds beat Corona with their hands tied behind their back.
I don't want to get it much like I don't want to get any virus, so I take precautions, however nothing more than necessary, and I'm not changing my lifestyle to compensate for a virus that CDC says I have a .0005% chance of dying from(I also don't hang around older people either though). There are bigger issues like mental health and long term financial stability, which is fukking with wayyyyyyyy more people. Shutting down the economy while balking on a stimulus package and saying we cant see family while governors are flying across to see family is probably why people are calling this disease overrated.
Its crazy because its so obvious the types of people that are hardest hit by this virus...the people most prone to complications...obese..high blood pressure...etc.
I bet we can look at obesity and health statistics 3 years from now, and obesity, smoking, exercise rates won't even budge. That says a lot. If I knew a disease was coming after me because I have the underlying health conditions, I would work my ass off to fix that.Last edited by CougarP01; 12-01-2020 at 07:58 AM.

my retired neighbors are always bitching about drumpf, about covid, blah blah blah. They both smoke.
These people only read headlines or watch talking heads on CNN. Case in point - they were complaining they couldnt wear their masks with the ventilators on the plane. They didnt understand why. They were hardcore maskcels and panicels but didnt understand the clear logic for that rule, why maybe the airline doesnt want people breathing out unfiltered air into the cabin, because despite being old and in a high risk category, they never took any time to actually read up on covid.

-Drastically overinflated death numbers, Hospitals given incentives to call deaths from covid.
brb car accident, he had covid....died of covid
-Underrepresented positive case numbers, making the death rate look worse...still not worthy of the reactions.
How many people have it with no symptoms or didn't get tested.
-Going on 2 Flu Seasons now and just adding the numbers continuously so it looks worse, like more of an issue.
brb....new record death toll today...no chit it's going to be a new record every day.
-Re-infection possibility so small its not even a concern and small % of population actually at risk of death.......but lets shut down the economy and ruin millions of people's lives for something that isn't as much of an issue as the regular flu....even without a vaccine.
This Virus has been politicized beyond belief and has allowed the government to make changes and gain more control over people in 9 months than what's been done in the last 50+ years. Have fun with inflation in the next 1-2 years. Also, look for your taxes to increase and get ready for more re-distribution of wealth.

I started getting sick on Thanksgiving, fever and chills and body aches with headache. I then lost taste and smell Sunday. I have felt like absolute dogchit, but I also got a shingles and flu shot the Friday before so my immune system might be pissed off at me. Tested positive yesterday and am quarantined until 12/11 from work but working from home when not napping. This thing is real, but just a bad bad cold.

Maybe. The flu season doesn't start in the US. There were reports back in the summer that other countries had seen there influenza case drop to nearly nothing.
Also the big flu number that was normally flogged in the press wasn't based on actual testing. It was just an estimate based on reported cases of "flu like illness". The twelve cases are probably actual positive flu tests from people getting tested to rule out flu as a cause of their symptoms.
The media and government handling of this has been really crappy.INTP Crew

This is a very common tactic used to manipulate. You pick out the most extreme position of your opposition, no matter how small a percentage that view actually is, claim that is what all your opposition is saying and argue against that rather than the more widely held views.
The media used this same tactic against "pizzagate". You had politically connected people openly making sexual remarks and taking photos of other people's kids and not even hiding their sexual interest in children. The news didnt cover that at all, they just claimed people on the internet said there was an underground dungeon and look no dungeon so nothing to see here folks. They didnt want to talk about why does Podesta have sexual paintings of children all over his fuking house and why does the candidate for POTUS associate with this creeper.
Media did this early on with covid too, they hyped up the small portion of people saying 5g and covid were related. How many articles in the MSM were there on that compared to actual people who ever advocated that "theory"
