$600
PS5 cost may have been leaked by Spanish retailer ahead of PS5 event
"Multiple images have surfaced from a major Spanish retailer that may have revealed the PS5 price. Photos from El Corte Inglés appeared overnight, potentially revealing the cost of both versions of the upcoming console ahead of official word from Sony.
Both images stem from El Corte Inglés, which is one of the biggest retailers in Spain, Pictures of the store’s internal systems that appear to show entries for both the standard and digital versions of the PS5 were shared on messaging service ********, listing two prices for the console. According to both of these photos, one version of the PS5 will cost €499.90 ($594/£460), while the other will cost €399.90 ($475/£369). The digital-only version of the console is very likely to be the cheaper version.
It’s possible that these prices are the retailer’s own placeholders for the console, but they line up precisely with similar leaks posted to Amazon France last month."

I keep saying of course it's going to be $600 and they're still selling it at a big loss. They already suggested it was going to cost more when Jim Ryan said something like the price isn't what's important, it's the value of what you're getting. That ssd ain't cheap. I also don't see how just getting rid of the optical drive takes off $100. I'd imagine the no disc version being $549.99.

Was expecting they go $450, but if this is true, I will still get it regardless.
My PS4 is from the pre-orders, and still working great. And even so, I cannot finish all the games I like to finish. So I hope I can with the PS5.CHRISTMAS Forever Crew

Im a sonycel and probably wont switch because i have so many digital games already but never know for sure. i dont think i will be preordering and will wait a bit to see how things play out.
Sony royally fuked up this console from a physical perspective though, xbox is:
- faster
- more compact
- probably lower price
- much larger fan (quieter)
Sony tried to make it look like past consoles and its giagantic and probably has a high pitched sound from smaller fans. Who cares if it is a square box, people just want it to be reliable, quiet and fit in their entertainment center.
They use nearly the same parts, cant believe Sony fuked up in like every category possible in the physical design.

I'm getting the Series X so I really don't care, but there is no fukking way you trot out a $600 console that is weaker than the Series X. It at least has to be $500 like the Series X. This happened with the Xbox One vs PS4 Launch. Xbox was the clear leader going into it, and then they announced the console was $100 more than the PS4, and then it had to be online, and then more restrictions, and then it caused people to switch over to Playstation, which they then rode off with. If the PS5 was a better console with respects to hardware, then yeah I could understand it. But if the $100 higher price tag is for the fact they have better exclusives then GTFO.
I still don't believe it costs more than the Series X. There is just no way they would be that stupid to make that mistake. I mean it's pretty apparent Sony has been fumbling the entire console release by remaining pretty quiet, whereas Microsoft is plastering the Xbox everywhere. It makes me believe that either Sony has some big reveal, OR they have nothing to reveal and don't want to bring attention to it. Seems to me like the latter when you look at the big picture. I mean people will still buy the PS5 regardless, but I'd be pretty salty if I had to pay an extra $100. I have a feeling that PS5 will still come in at like $449 or some chit like that to stick it to Microsoft. But apparently they had to cut 4 Million consoles due to supply chain issues.Last edited by JStrez; 09-15-2020 at 09:03 AM.

"Because the thing about repairing, maintaining, and cleaning is it’s not an adventure. There’s no way to do it so wrong you might die. It’s just work. And the bottom line is, some people are okay going to work, and some people … well, some people would rather die. Each of us gets to choose.”

So will the digital one be $500 then?
I got no problem giving Sony $720+
$600 for a ps5 Obviously
plus 2 launch games.
I’d pay $1,000 if that’s what they demand.
I just want the all digital because I don’t really care about physical copies anymore though I used to prefer them.
Just wonder how much that one will be not the one with the disc drive.
I know ps5 will be worth every penny when you look at Sony track record .
Xbox’s break too much. Esp at Launch.BLM (Brock Lesnar Matters)

I really don't care that much about any of the games at launch. If anything I'll probably wait until Cyberpunk 2077 and Last of Us 2 have patchs ready for the PS5. Otherwise I don't see a rush in getting either console the launch games seem kind of bland tbh...
Not gonna lie though if they were selling a gold PS5 at launch I would get it though due to the exclusivity lol
