Not sure if because of shutdowns, but 15 seems a bit old for Junior High.

A 15-year-old boy shot Monday at a junior high school in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, is in very serious condition at the children's hospital in Little Rock, authorities said.

Pine Bluff Police Chief Kelvin Sergeant said investigators think the shooter is a 15-year-old male who is also a student at Watson Chapel Junior High.

So much screeching, yet such little knowledge of Arkansas gun laws. Arkansas already has gun laws

1) it is against the law for anyone under 18 to have a handgun. - it was already illegal for him to be in possession of that gun.

2) it is a class B felony to give a minor a handgun - if someone gave him that gun that was also already illegal

3) it is a felony to steal a firearm - if he stole it from his household or from someone else it was already illegal

4) it is a felony to conceal carry a firearm without a concealed carry permit - it was already illegal for him to hide the handgun on his person to bring it into the school

5)it is a felony to bring a illegally possessed firearm into school - it was already illegal for him to bring it to school

6)assault with a deadly weapon - it was already illegal for him to try and shoot someone

7) attempt of murder - it was already illegal for him to try and kill someone

As you can see Arkansas already has plenty of laws in the books that would have stopped this...but they didn’t. Criminals don’t follow laws so adding yet another law after breaking 7 already was not going to stop him.

It's funny how they claim it is easier for kids to get guns now - 40 years ago that kid could have walked into Sears and bought that gun no questions asked, no ID shown, no background check, nothing. Heck, he could have wrote a check and ordered a fully auto rifle from a catalog.

Kids literally used to drive to school with guns in their truck to go hunting after school.
