Our kid is 6 months and we mentioned school for the first time last night. I told her that I distrust the liberal, secular nonsense they indoctrinate kids with. All the junk science about global warming, dinosaurs, evolution, China, all of it. We got into a big fight. She's really obsessed about me not believing in dinosaurs. The whole thing got way out of hand.
I don't think we should just trust the public school on all of this stuff. If she wants to teach our son her beliefs, I can teach them mine and they can decide for themselves. But forcing them to hear about that agenda at school doesn't seem fair to me at all.

The only reason I ever thought about homeschooling was because of the lib chit I have seen schools trying to brainwash kids with. I'd prob send the kid to a conservative private school over home schooling though. Home schooled kids are usually socially retarded.

I would rather your kid go through the liberal, secular nonsense they indoctrinate kids with, and all the junk science about global warming, dinosaurs, evolution, China, all of it, rather than they be taught information and values by you
"So there I am sitting in the waiting area of the hair salon with my niece and Keanu Reeves walks in. I was nervous as ****, but too scared to say anything to him. Then my niece started crying, and I’m trying to quiet her down because I don't want to bother him. Pretty soon he walks over and asks what's wrong. I replied that she was probably hungry. He put down his magazine, picked up my niece, and lifted up his shirt, and breastfed her right there in the salon. Chill guy, really nice about it."

Private school or Catholic school. That's where my parents sent me.
Home schooling = autistic child. Kids need to socialize with other children so they can learn things when they are young.
Otherwise they will grow up to become a miscer.Be patient like the mountain. And you will learn to be strong.
100% serious 50% of the time.

As someone that went to private school (Catholic FTW) and was homeschooled, honestly it depends on the kid. I don't trust public schools, unless it's in a $$$$ conservative area. I will say if y'all homeschool your kid make sure they get some social activities in. I was with a bunch of weirdo Dugger/FA/Super religious group and did not have fun. Those kids were smart but were lacking social skills. Just make sure the program is legit and accredited. Don't use Abeka books.
Personally if I had kids they would be going to private school, it's the best of both worlds. Plus Catholic schools will work with families that can't afford it.

Ignorant. My kids are homeschooled and have plenty of friends from sports, their playgroups, their library reading groups, etc. They socialize fine.
Also, not all homeschoolers are flat-earth Protestant fundies. There are many kinds of homeschooling programs.
Public school = "Timmy has three daddies", "You can be a woman or a man with just a little surgery", etc, not to mention the shootings and violence. Also, most Miscers went to public school. Strong autism.
SRS, how can any publicly educated person say homeschoolers have bad social skills? 90% of people are morons and almost all millennial are socially piss poor due to social media addiction.

Jon, do you remember that awkward part of your life when you experienced your first crush? And you kind of made an idiot out of yourself because you weren't sure how to act around them? And you didn't know how to navigate conflict and repair friendships and relationships when you did make an ass out of yourself?
That's okay. You were like, 12. Everyone has awkward moments like that as a kid.
Now imagine going through that same experience, but when you're twenty-one and supposedly old enough to know better. And also, you don't believe in China or dinosaurs and think the earth is flat. So you're emotionally delayed, as well as not understanding or believing in actual science, and you're now resentful because your parents did not teach you or raise you properly to understand the way that the world works.
I know you are a Christian, and there is absolutely nothing Biblical about misleading your children. In fact, you are commanded to teach and prepare your children to have a successful life. If you go this route, you are a bad parent. Srs. Get it together.Last edited by redraider86; 08-21-2018 at 11:22 AM.
