*sigh*.....where to begin....
There are waaaay too many factors involved to give a simple yes/no answer.
I only have two main comments on this:
1. Only the most elite athletes can actually perform the Tabata Protocol
2. Roughly 65% of people who claim to do HIIT actually do MIIT (regular intervals)
Just do whatever type of cardio you like best, and account for it with your dietAlba Gu Brath

Tabata is a HIIT protocol.

Tabata at 10 minutes will probably burn about the same amount of calories as a less intense 15 minute protocol. I am still interested what prompted the question. If you are using HIIT to burn calories, you are doing it in a deficit. I personally think HIIT is much more effective at a maintence level or surplus.
