You'll be fine. Your body will adjust to new intakes in a few days. If you start taking in more, your body will start excreting more. Just make sure to drink plenty of water and get a good amount of potassium to balance it all out.

More sodium = more water retention.

Not anywhere in particular, just in your whole body.

Just did my first contest 9 day ago. My sodium intake was 4,000-5,000mg daily (Frank's red hot FTW!) up until show day, it's was easily more after all my food that day too lol. I also didn't cut any water, 1.5-2 gallons per day, as well as a lot on show day. I was shredded, so no it's not going to hurt you.

I'm not saying that you won't retain water from sodium. That can certainly happen. What I'm saying is that your body will adjust to it, and you will flush out that water after a few days. So if you can deal with the bloat for a few days in order to have your spice then go for it. If you drink more water and get plenty of potassium then you can minimize the bloating effect somewhat.

Where does sodium make your body retain water?

Doesn't creatine do the same thing? But it stores it in our muscles?

I've noticed when I take Creatine, my scale tells me my water % actually goes down by about 2%. Thoughts?
