I just dont understand you guys, I just dont get it.

So youre saying: if a politician is dumb enough to outline his corruption on camera, but he happens to be with the opposing party, that the President should just ignore it and back off? Should corrupt politicians be immune from investigation if theyre discovered by the opposite party? Serious question is srs

What kind of logic (if any) are you guys using to conclude that what POTUS is doing is wrong? Should we just turn a blind eye to all corruption exposed if its done by the opposite party?! LMFAO you people are a trip srs

The foreign President you guys said he tried to strong arm came out publicly and said he did not, what more do you want? hahahaha This is a soft-coup by the deep state trying to remove a duly elected President and usurp the will of the American people, this is a massive scandal that is ongoing and will have ramifications for the rest of our future

The American people see how ridiculous this coup is, I just dont think most grasp the severity of whats happening right now and what it would mean if theyre somehow successful... Everyone is too comfy to act right now...

Crimes so heinous that, instead of utilizing all of the investigative powers held by the Executive, the best course was to send Rudy to handle it on the down low.

Based on the responses by the Dems ITT they
    A. believe the President should've went about it differently
    B. Believe the President's reasons for going about it are malicious and of ill-intent and he should be impeached for it.

Not one Democrat brought up any issues or concerns about what the President is actually going after, instead they attack the Presidents reasons for doing so. While ignoring the corruption they apparently have no problems with.

Democrats believe the President should be impeached for going after corruption because Democrats believe he's doing it for the wrong reasons without evidence other than "belief".
I'm not religious but watching the self proclaimed "educated" Democrats clinging to their beliefs without evidence is strikingly similar to religious folk clinging onto their faith. The irony is palpable. Cultish behavior

Here is my non-biased point of view

I think the way it was gone about was wrong. I don't see why they wouldn't hold a vote right at the start. I don't see why all the closed door meetings and everything about it just felt shady

I think it looks bad for Trump. I think it looks like abuse of power, regardless of what actually happened. I think he probably does shady stuff and abuses his position, and to be fair I also think every president probably did that and just didn't get caught. Trump isn't a pro politician and either isn't smart enough or doesn't care to try and cover his messes

So far, I don't think there has been enough to actually show what he did. If it were a court case (I understand that it isn't) I think there would be very insufficient evidence

I'm tired of the media blabbing about Trump. I'm tired of the whole thing. I think in general it's a huge waste of time and money

I think the Democrats are doing it more to just make Trump look bad to set up the 2020 election. I think Trump does look bad, but I think the way they went about it makes the Democrats look worse

I think there is a 0.00% chance if it goes to the Senate that he is removed

I think that in 2020 no matter what we won't have a clear cut "This is the ****ing guy" candidate. I think there's a chance of lower voter turn out. I think people are, even more so than 2016, going to be fed up and not really care. Not everyone, but some people. I think the people in the middle, slightly left leaning people, and slightly right leaning people are tired of the circus

I'm not sure that I'll vote in 2020 myself, unless I find an independent guy or unless Trump does something to wow me. If you can find someone who is socially liberal but fiscally conservative that won't want to raise taxes and that will be tough on illegal immigration and will keep us out of wars, I'd vote for that person

I already voiced my unbiased opinion in another thread. But in a nutshell: Trump is the last person I see trying to bring jobs and security back to the people first. If there was any candidate running even remotely moderate, it would seriously be a consideration for me.

But you already have posters like Sillie and EctoCuck going in deep on the weak economy (which it is right now). So I'm having a hard time understanding what they think will happen when a President alienates all of the rich and their businesses with these socialist policies like universal healthcare, green new deal, higher wages, etc. They have already left the U.S. over the last several decades for less. Do you think businesses will just "roll over and take it"? Any pain they feel will be felt by the working class.

It's a shame, really, that America doesn't have better choices. I'd actually be willing to forfeit voting for Trump in order to ease tensions with everybody, if only there were far better choices. I'm just not seeing it.

Can you show me something that says she will not raise taxes, does not want open borders / will take a hard stance on illegal immigration, and has a plan to reduce spending?

If so I would seriously consider it

Not a direct response to the OP, but wow is impeachment going to backfire on Democrats big time.

I'd argue that THIS is what Trump Derangement Syndrome actually is - the failure to see the damaging consequences that impeachment will have on the Dem's electability in 2020.

Brb, after impeachment, the trial process gets bumped up to the senate, who acquits or convicts.
Brb, Mitch McConnell gets to control the speed and length of the process.
Brb, the news channels have to report on it every day, and the Republicans use it as an opportunity to air grievances about the Dems and any Dem primary front-runners (so a focus on Biden & his son).
Brb, the senators running for president (Bernie, Warren, Harris, Booker, and Klobuchar) are stuck in Washington for at least 6 hours a day, but Mitch can make it as long as he wants, like 12-hour hearings.
Brb, those senators lose their ground-game in the primary states. Biden's campaign loses momentum by not winning any early vote state, while Bernie & Warren split the leftist vote on Super Tues.
Brb, this results in a brokered convention, which makes the general public think the Democrats are disorganized.

Brb, 4 more years of Trump.

I haven’t been paying much attention because politics is far too exhausting. I’m a Trump supporter and all, but I don’t think I have any idea what’s going on here and from a person like me, who stopped paying attention to politics for about six months, it seems like a big fat sham.

I was in the gym when the “ambassador in the center of the scandal” (according to CNN) was being interviewed. It seems all that Schiff had to say was that they just *know* POTUS did something bad but could not explicitly name it. The ambassador was asked questions regarding Ukraine, text messages and phone calls, and meetings that didn’t happen...for what purpose?

So the bad thing that POTUS did was ask the Ukrainian president to investigate corruption in exchange for military aid? Is that it? Is that even wrong? Do we not use our military all over the planet to help other countries already? We don’t do that for free...so what exactly is the deal here?

I’m being serious. I tuned out politics for a whole deployment to Norway (Italy, Spain, Germany, Romania, and Georgia in there as well) and I do not understand the scandal.

The allegations are that he withheld aid until they would specifically investigate Biden, and people think it's mainly because he is a political adversary, and not because of the alleged corruption with him and his son and the Ukraine. So people are mad because they are seeing it as him using his power to withhold aid in order for political gain

    I see...

So Biden and his crew were doing shady shyt, which was noticed and, I’m assuming, brought to the attention of the POTUS. POTUS then asks the Ukraine to look in to the situation based on treaty shown above...

Then the other side of the aisle is mad because they feel like POTUS is using his power to request an investigation into a potential legal matter only because it’s a political rival, so they start this impeachment thing up? Is there anything suggesting he only wanted the investigation due to it being a rival?

    That’s it?

    No that's not it.

If we have a corruption treaty with Ukraine why did Trump need to fire our Ambassador to Ukraine, bring in rogue state dept Giuliani, withhold aid, demand a public announcement of an investigation into the Bidens? etc etc

Jesus, Trump literally released an incomplete transcript where he very specifically mentioned the Bidens and the Crowdstrike DNC server bull**** (fuking lol)

It's unethical, at the very least, for the POTUS to threaten to withhold foreign aid unless another country dig up dirt for him on his political rivals.

Whether that's grounds for impeachment, I don't 100% know as I'm not an expert on the subject but it seems to come under "officers have engaged in treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors" so on the face of it, yes it is.

As far as general perception goes, I think a lot of people simply don't give a crap because every headline every day for the last few years has been something like this:

"OMG GUESS WHAT MADMAN TRUMP HAS DONE THIS TIME!!! HAS HE GONE TOO FAR NOW???!!!".

So when an actual important news item about his shady dealings comes up, no-one cares.

I don't blame the Dems for going after him, since this combination of corruption and incompetence makes him an obvious target. I do blame the media for wasting everyone's time with every trivial thing he's said and done because they have created an atmosphere of sullen indifference to all things Trump.
