I know a lot of folks just hate the music that 'wafts' through the air at this time of the year, but I've got to say that I love it! From the classical, Vivaldi's Glorias, Handel's Messiah, Bach, to the traditional hymns, or classics like "White Christmas," or "I'll Be Home for Christmas," "Let It Snow!" they all make this Season magical. Music makes life worth living! I'd rather lose my sight than hearing.

True that!
admittedly, there are LOUSY arrangements that offend the dead (zombie alert! ), '2 front teeth' being one of them
but I'd likely off myself if the ears didnt work. srs.
Glenn Miller just went in... feels like Christmas 1943!
I guess.... since I wasnt there (AFAIK)
Edit: The Stille Nacht on the 1st MS disc is just TOO good... Used to polish my boondockers while listening to it on headphones onboard ship... Good memories!

I have a good bit of Christmas music. As a kid, I was entrusted with turning on my father's stereo system & reel-to-reel player to play the Christmas tapes, which required quite a few steps for a kid under 10 . Naturally, I favor "classic" Christmas music, sung by old time greats, so my own CD collection came to mirror much of what not only sounds great to me, but also what brings back memories for me.
I have:
Time Life Treasury of Christmas - 2CD - Bing, Elvis, Jim Reeves, Perry Como, Aretha Franklin, Nat King Cole, Burl Ives, Andy Williams, Gene Autry, Judy Garland & many more......
50 Christmas Greats - 2CD - more of the same as above, but different songs.
Carpenter's Christmas
Nat King Cole
Bing Crosby
A Very Special Christmas - newer (early 90's) rock/pop artists.
& 3 or 4 other CD's that I cannot recall the names of atm
It's great not having to listen to the same couple of discs over and over. And this year, I won't even have to change them out of a 5 disc player...because I have them all on my PC which is connected to a stereo system."If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

I love Christmas music, but I refuse to listen to it before Thanksgiving.
This song is probably my favorite, and this particular version is awesome. I could listen to it over and over again.

Our family tradition for the past 10 years or so is to play Rebecca St James's Christmas album.
Jaina adored her, and got to meet her in concert when Jaina was 4 or 5. (memory is fading.)

Is tomorrow, today (LOL) the last day of November? Christmas music begins on the 1st of December! I think we have one more day if I'm not mistaken. I do need to pay the rent! They expect that! Bastards!!!! Regardless, this year will be celebrated with relish and absolute joy! I've never understood Mormons, but God, can that tabernacle choir sing or what?!!! The traditional hymns with a 135 piece orchestra behind the voices always does it for me. I've been listening to Handel pipe organ and trumpet for the past two weeks just to get in the mood!!!

TSO = Trans Siberian Orchestra. Was a metal band back in the 80's called Savatage, TSO actually started as a side project, and just exploded!! Awesome music!!
Savatage, still love this song!!
I know this one has been posted, but they cut some of the guitar out of the other one."Is it REALLY a passion if it gets abandoned the first time things get tough?
