We just bought a mattress several days ago!!

My husband and I both have really bad backs. We had back surgury about 13 years ago. Both of us suffered at the time from herniated disks. Well, things really do change once you have back issues!

We've purchased three mattresses in the last 2 years. We own a king size bed, so you can only imagine it wasn't cheap. This time when we shopped for a mattress, we literally took a nap on the darn thing! I mean, you drive a car before you buy it, right? And guess what? That was the best thing we could have done. We went to Boscovs and bought a memory foam mattress that has a 15 year warranty. Since we've purchased this mattress, we've both had wonderful night's sleep and we wake up with NO back or neck pain.

If you are interested, I can give you the model number/make. Total price was $1599.00 (before tax).

    Good luck!!

Dont get one of those Temperpedics. I dont doubt that its good for your back but when it comes time to sleep, you just wont be able to get comfortable. The thing works better as a couch than a bed. (If you get the adjustable frame)

My Sealy Posturepedic is awesome! I paid $1,800.00 (ouch!) about 8 years ago. I had a compressed disc in my neck and could not move my arms or legs; physcial therapy & add to it a bad back. I needed to be able to function and roll out of bed in the morning. It's a thing of beauty.

I have had a sleep number bed for years and it seems to do the trick. I was in several car accidents and this actually helped with my back issues. I also have a Sealy (firm) in the guest room, so if I really need a change I have that as an option. Just try them out first, that is how you can tell.

I'm telling ya, water beds need to make a comeback.

I've tried a sleep number bed (several times). It feels like you're sleeping on an air bed (which you are).

x2. I had the motionless type. Only thing was you had to keep installing water conditioner. Best sleep I've ever had cuz it conformed to your body. It was like sleeping on clouds. Wife said the same thing...

contrary to popular belief a firm mattress is NOT needed - a plush mattress can give you great support yet be very comfortable. that's what i got - supportive plushness. i have the sealy posturpedic midnight haze mattress euro box top. it has a cashmere cover and is sooooooooo comfortable - it's rated 10 on the comfort scale. this is a $5k mattress set that i got from usmattress.com for $1850 white glove delivered and set up.

    Hemiptera: Cimicidae

I've never had the pleasure of meeting the Cimicidae although I learned about them in school...

My husband could not sleep well on or old mattress so we went out and bought a Sealy after he tetsed out almost every mattress in the store. It was great for a while, but once the body dent developed that I rolled into every morning his sleep became worse. The solution for us was not to replace the mattress, but the bed itself. We got a platform bed (drawers underneath, no box spring needed). It eliminated the body dents and neither of us have complained about a bad nights sleep since.

I've tried a sleep number bed (several times). It feels like you're sleeping on an air bed (which you are).

Are they firm enough to roll to the side, slide legs to floor and push your torso off the bed? That's what I have to do when my back acts up.

I just have an image of a giant wave rolling to the other side and coming back! lol.

I've had lower back problems for years and sleep on a carpeted floor 3 nights a week and a futon the 4. I'd sleep on the floor full-time but it hurts my shoulders sometimes.
