Did not read entire thread, anyone happen to have the controller drift problem on their Switch? It drives my kids insane.

Even bought two USB corded playstation looking controllers apparently made by Nintendo, no fix. Updated firmware on main unit and remotes. Calibrated every controller. Drifts when controllers connected to the sides, or remote on the TV.

I think the damn Switch is defective. Sucks because they are like 500$ now if you can even get ahold of them.

easy fix that usually last about a month til it recurrs is to use like 90% alcohol with a q-tip and just get it inside the rubber lip, it will loosen up the dirt and clean it.. Then you re-calibrate.

its a terribly designed joystick that gets dirt/dust inside easily..

unfortunately if you send it into nintendo they will clean or replace your joysticks, but it will still drift again once it gets dirty. To solve the issue where you are out weeks without controllers just clean it yourself. Pro controller does not have this issue, only joycons. That means your kids or yourself need to be extra clean when playing with the joycons.

its a very known issue. you have to send it in to nintendo, its free

Google WD 40 and joycon, get the electric contact cleaner. I did this and it has helped some, but still does it. I'll probably swap out the stick @ some point, but hesitant right now b/c if I screw it up, buying a new set is a PITA right now.

Switch is pretty stellar IMO, but the sticks on these joycon just suck.

Drifting problem means the user is grimy AF. If you Google for DIY fixing solutions, you'll find they all just tell you to clean or replace the thumbstick.

Make your kids wash their hands before playing and don't let them eat food while playing.

my only thought is the nintendo switch might still be reading the joycons (because they turn on with the switch even when not in use) while you are using the USB controllers. Try using moving the joycon controller while using the USB controller and see if the joycon is still active? if it is then you know why

also bought the pro controller, definitely the purchase that was most worthwhile, it's seriously life changing. can't believe I was playing switch games without it before. feels like you need it for the full switch experience. so comfortable. so precise. so sexy.

bought this immediately with my Switch on release, I don't think I've played more than 20 hours with the joycons in total

I'm truly debating selling my Switch AGAIN...

I bought a Switch at launch, had it for a few months, got bored and sold it. I then bought a new one about a year ago when they released the new model with the larger battery, I bought abunch of games, played it for abit, but it basically sits untouched. I sold all my AAA Switch games, and the only thing I play on it is the virtual SNES and a few old school PS1 JRPGs.

Are there any great looking games coming out on the horizon for the Switch that I should hold onto mine for?

They really did. i mean, I have no problem using them, but having them start drifting after normal gamer abuse is dumb.

I spend as much time playing Indies as I do with AAA titles.

Some of my favorite games on the Switch are Indie titles. I have Enter the Gungeon but couldn't really get into it. Maybe I will try it again.
