Oh lawdy, Trump is turning the US socialist.

I get that there is a long way to go in this election, and a poll in July certainly does not mean it's over for November, but there is a lot of lulzy numbers in this one:
Top line:
Biden 48 - 43 Trump
Senate Race:
Hegar 29 - 42 Cornyn
So, Trump is -5, Cornyn is +13 and Trump is running 18 points behind the Senate race.
Approval Rating
Approve 43 - 50 Disapprove
Independent Approval
Approve 30 - 59 Disapprove (52% strongly disapprove)
Coronavirus Approval
Approve 41 - 51 Disapprove (28-61 among independents)
Has the federal govt coronavirus response caused you to reconsider your vote?
A great deal - 21%
Fair amount - 16%
Those 37% are certainly not reconsidering to supporting Trump due to his exemplary response. LMAO.
I won't say Texas is officially purple yet because it's just Trump while Cornyn is cruising to an easy victory, but Texas is clearly a battleground for the Presidential race this fall. Given the focus of disapproval on Trump's coronavirus response, it's only going to go downhill for him the further the state's outbreak worsens and hospitals max out capacity.

Texas is trending purple due to demographics, but main reason it is going to be much closer than it should be this year is due to Trump and his behavior. I think Trump will win Texas by +5. If say Pence was the GOP candidate, he’d win it by a wider margin.

I think this is a dangerous mindset. I’m supporting Trump, but he’s losing right now. Conservatives need to wake up. Calling every poll that shows Biden ahead fake gets us nowhere.
I could understand if Biden was up by 3-5 points (like Hillary) but he’s not. He’s leading by double digits. Even a flawed poll provides some valuable context.
Trump supporters are getting complacent, hoping for the silent majority to poll through. I fear that will only lead to failure as the independents needed to win will feel abandoned and either stay home or begrudgingly vote blue.

If you’re voting for an R senator, you are 100% voting for Trump.

If Pence were the candidate I believe he would win.
Saw a bit on polling on Face the Nation this morning. Focused on 3 of the state with spiking C-19 (TX, FL, and AZ). Polls showed about 60% of respondents said they believed that their state opened up too soon. Some number attributed it to pressure from the Trump administration. Respondents who were most concerned about C-19 were also most likely to say they would be voting for Biden.
I'm not sure how you could possibly spin the story towards a consensus that Trump has been an effective leader re:handling the C-19 pandemic.
Also, FWIW, I've read a forecast that the US pandemic will peak in early November.
I'm holding on to some very slight hope that we will have a legit 3rd party candidate, or that Trump will step down and give the race to Pence.INTP Crew

Agreed. I'm sure there are some degrees of inaccuracy in these polls, but to dismiss ALL polls because of the fiasco of 2016 is wrong. Hillary was not polling as good as biden currently is at this point in her campaign. Once we get closer to Sept and October the polls will find their final resting place.
Bear in mind biden is polling the way he is WITHOUT the announcement of his VP, and all candidates naturally get a healthy bump in the polls once they announce their VP, and then it levels off once people start digging up skeletons in the VP's closet. Remember Sarah Palin? Everyone thought it was GG for obama because McCain exploded in the polls shortly after announcing her as his running mate.

Poll: Hillary Clinton Leads Donald Trump in Texas
How eager the left is to forget.
Biden greatly lags Trump in enthusiasm. And by wider margins than hillary did in 2016. That decides your election.EMT/Firefighter Crew
