Yet even more main-in ballots found on the side of the road

Meanwhile, in another installment of “voting by mail is totally safe”..

    https://dailyprogress.com/community/...rrBHxq-7uKNhqU
When Jimmy Henshaw woke up last Friday the last thing he thought he’d be doing is speaking to Virginia State Police about items found on his property: discarded mail-in ballots.

“I saw on the news this morning about the ballots found in Pennsylvania,” Henshaw said. The U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Middle District of Pennsylvania reported there were nine discarded ballots found in Luzerne County.

Around 11:30 a.m. as he started to do some work around his property off Dundee Road in Ruckersville when he noticed paper trash strewn about on one section.

“It’s not unusual for people to throw trash here,” he said as showed a Dunkin Donuts bag with a Wendy’s fry container he found, as well. “I noticed that one of the envelopes was the official return envelope to the registrar’s office.”

Once he began picking up all the strewn pieces of a paper there were actually two ballots and the one from Ruckersville was outside of the envelope entirely. The other was from someone in Barboursville. Both envelopes had stamps on them but there were no post office marks on them. Additionally, there was a card from a Stanardsville address and a Visa bill payment sheet—both out of opened envelopes.

“So, it wasn’t just from one home or anything,” Henshaw said. “People do sometimes throw things out down along the river so I rode down there and across the bridge but I didn’t see anything there.”

Gee I wonder why this was never an issue in every other election ever. Trump could never scheme a scenario where his own people try to purposely produce fraud so they can use it as a talking point. That would never happen ever Republicans are good boys.

Good thing Dems rammed through ballot harvest and late counting for ballots regardless of mail date or we would be losing all these ballots.

Nah, first I would take 30 seconds to check the status of my ballot on my state's election website and request a replacement or head down the street and vote in person if it was getting late, but then yeah, pretty much.

Bitch, this election was put on the schedule 175 years ago.

The orange man had 4 of those years to address your concerns but apparently no one told him about it.

When has there ever been a time when the government mailed out 80 million unrequested ballots? And this has always been a problem. Trump is just making a fine point on how demicrats win elections. Its not just dead people and illegals that are getting ballots. Ballots that are for Trump are being discarded in ditches to further supress his turnout. That is election engineering. And it can't be allowed to taint our republic.

"The organization said it found nearly 8,000 people who were credited with voting in 2018 on a date after they were listed as deceased. North Carolina had the highest rate of the states reviewed, the study said.

As for double-voting, PILF said about 38,000 people voted twice from the same address in the 2018 general election. Another 5,500 people voted twice from different addresses in the same state. And more than 8,000 others were credited with voting in two different states.

One Pennsylvania voter appeared in the voter registration file seven times, all with the same address, PILF says. A Detroit voter who died in the last century was still active on the city’s rolls."

    Weird, right little guy?

why use the word many? many could be under 10 to over 40k (or even less since its not "most"). Maybe they did that because the numbers didn't make mailed in votes look disproportionately represented.

8k people "credited" with voting in 2018 on a date after they were listed as deceased. What does this mean? Did they vote by mail then die and the dates aren't accurate?

A ton of those are also likely to be mistakes in their data gathering. If not then go ahead and report the crimes so the feds can investigate these voters.

probably trying to make it easier to vote. Things like these should be followed by verifying people who hand in other's votes and greater scrutiny on the votes handed in.

Thought about this just in case, but literally a lie like this would easily fall apart once police question the person who 'found' them. Like how they catch all the fake hate crimes every year.

Had a quick look and it seems ~3% is lost mail rate, even if we reduce it to 1% then all Americans voting by mail could expect that ~3.3 million would be lost at some point.

Based on that figure I’d say there’s much bigger failings, which could be used against mail in voting, than “2 ballots found on the side of the road”.

Exactly. There is an obvious resistance, based purely on partisan political fukery, to accept some of the basic realities of everyday life that spill over to elections.

A pretty large number of Americans struggle with using the right pen to mark their ballot, even more are confounded by putting it in the envelope, the post office has long had it's own set of problems, meth heads steal mail, etc. Then there are all the considerations of receiving and counting thousands of ballots over the course of a couple days at each election office. In person voting has it's own set of problems of moving people to the ballot instead of the ballot to the people.

Incompetence/error far, far outweighs "but muh fraud!". It does make easy fodder for idiots to concoct some of the absolute worst arguments known to man to win their battle of ideas against the evil doers and make themselves feel like they accomplished something for the day.

because they were never sending out millions of unsolicited mail-in ballots

blows my mind people can't tell the difference

whether it is a Democrat or a Republican doing it, this is even more reason why it should be ensured ballots, votes, etc should be sent out, collected and counted in the most reasonably secure way possible.

Just because there isn't any "evidence" it doesn't mean you should act in ways that would likely reduce the integrity/security or increase the chances of fraud? What good does it do if say they do find evidence say 4, 5 or 10 years later of widespread fraud?

Are they sending them to people that are not registered to vote? What is the big deal that people who are registered to vote receive a ballot so that they can vote? ? When they return their ballot it would go through a verification process, same as all votes that have ever been cast by mail since the country was founded.
