So after the players totally f*ck us on any resumption of play...
What do we do as league for the draft next year?
Do we try to reset the draft picks everyone had for this seasons draft?
I know some of you like JY and Krazy are probably going to immediately hate this idea because you didn’t have any picks this draft but thinking without any bias what’s the most fair way to handle that situation if this season never happens?"One day I won't be able to lift any more. What? No one ever talked about this standing if the season was cancelled.
Hell you and JY wanted to hold off on drafting until Spring Training 2.0 kicked off.
So if we had waited you’d have been ok rolling everything over but because we had it and the season subsequently cancelled (if it does) the draft should stand?
Interesting logic but I knew there’d be push back.
I’m open to discussing or I wouldn’t have brought it up but hopefully you have more valid points for why it should stand than you currently do."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. isnt it way more fair for everybody to essentially be on even keel?
in this current moment, im the only one that's at a disadvantage for next years draft, as i traded a pick. jy the only one at an advantage. everybody else is literally neutral which is more perfect imo
i get that chill was not at the draft, so that's probably why he likes it, but the league as a whole?
again, i just think everybody went forward knowing this was a possible outcome as it was discussed, and you're at a more baseline level than we could have ever been otherwise.
going back just increases the complicatedness 10 fold

People traded away players last year in anticipation it would be beneficial for them the next season.
You basically are arguing that you should be able to trade away your picks last year like you did, and suffer no repercussions the next season
All that’s happened is the next season happened to skip a year if 2020 is cancelled."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. If you want to go even keel then let’s throw all players back in the draft and to an entire redraft.
No keepers
Does that make sense? Of course not."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. nope. i disagree. they benefited in the draft this year. the one we just did
now their keeper pool which they can keep from is better. those people they chose can be kept within their keepers
so, i dont agree
i was willing to go along with what majority chose but i did voice some concern on going ahead with the draft. again, i thought these ramifications were considered when we first went ahead with the draft
i feel like you're just trying to go back to what's more beneficial as opposed to what's "fair"
how exactly is the fact that next years draft would be almost entirely neutral unfair?
and you're additionally telling me all the prep work, all the drafting, all the players chosen in march when we knew the draft was surrounded by controversy was all for naught

Anyway, let's put a pause on all of this until we know what's what.
No sense getting into this now. Only brought it up cause I just knew this would be a sh*t storm if the season gets cancelled and just needed to confirm for my own sanity and preparation, lol.
But seriously, let's go ahead and pause. Its an issue that may or may not need to be actually sorted out and it's at least on everyone's radar if the unfortunate happens"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. Maybe one final piece of rustling since I opened this up...
There is an Option C:
We just keep our drafted rosters and roll them all the way into next year.
Anyway... toodles!"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. it's all negated by having the draft, though. so... what if someone at the end of the draft had a great draft and the guy with more picks didn't?
i think its stupid that someone could have an advantage, fuk it up by having a bad draft, then just gets to reset to have the advantage again when we saw it fully played out and realized.
we don't know how the season would have played out so it's almost entirely implausible to try and gauge how it would have gone. for instance, a guy like lemahieu becoming an mvp
the owners with the advantage got to use it in the draft they should have more keepers that they get to keep and choose from. if they fuked up, they don't get a re-do
if we didn't go through with the draft.. that makes more sense to me
also agree that hopefully we get games in so the point is moot
edit: also, im not entirely opposed to rolling this roster into the next draft

These cheeky kents are now counting our probables into the numbers.
NO NEW CASES: There are no new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Calhoun County.
CASE COUNT: 37 total confirmed, 31 recovered, 7 active, 3 deaths, 4 probable
The state is now including the probable cases into the active case count numbers but not into the confirmed case count numbers.Titletown, Lake Show, Evil Empire

Fukk. No baseball games during these beautiful spring/summer weekends is brutal. Memorial Day weekend just didn't feel right without it. Really took for granted having a Cubs game to look forward to every day, going to Kauffman on a random weeknight, or just having any random game on in the background when doing any other ****. Really hope the players/owners can come to an agreement soon.
