As for the WHY ?

I think there is only one or two reasons to do no fap.

1) It was a problem in your life. I.e addiction. (includes taking up your time)

2) Your ashamed of fapping.

Other people claim
- Confidence (I think that goes hand in hand with 2, which is actually ascence of shame.)
- Increased test (possible, and definitely in the short term, but does it increase test in long term ? Im not so sure. the more sperm and sex hormones you use the more you produce)
- Social anxiety (I dont know, maybe)
- Getting girls (yeah only if you had that ability to start with)
- Deeper voice (possible due to ascence of shame and increased confidence)
- More energy (yeah, i'll accept it, if your fapping a lot and quit you can have more energy)
- Increased eye contact (yes, refer back to points 1 & 2.

My bad, some more reasons to do no fap.

3) Porn induced ED

4) Rebalance the brain, (but you can refer back to point 1 because unless your addicted your not going to be putting your brain out of balance by fapping a few times a week. It just depends how long you spend watching and how many different scenes or images you view. Id say the internet is to blame here. Back in the day of VHS it was no problem. You would watch maybe a scene or two at most.)

The internet is the real problem. The WWW gives you never ending stimulation and too many choices. If you where to say switch to DVD's and only do it say once a week, unless you link shame to porn and masturbation then you wouldnt have a problem.

What I heard from (lets just say) a sex therapist (wont mention her name) is that there is nothing wrong with porn and masturbation because men (and women) need sex and they will have to get it in one way or another. I'll add that its the excess thats the problem. Its when people get caught up in it and use it for too long and too frequently and they dont just take a scene and ejaculate. Professionals also says that people with sex addiction and porn and masturbation addiction also have a deeper issue which is an intimacy problem, and often the porn addict has problems talking with women.

A long while ago when I was looking into sex addiction (with great shame and non acceptance until I found this thread) the guy was saying that porn and masturbation addiction is actually treated by looking at the deeper core root issue which is actually an intimacy problem. Just something to think about.

Not at all. The whole idea of NO FAP is to stop fapping to superficial images and going out into the real world to get that interaction from an actual female, and that's what you're doing.

Had relapsed earlier after a 90 day streak. So been on this for 210 days.

A lot of the benefits you'll see hee are mental. Anybody saying there are no benefits of no fap has no idea what he's talking about. I started this after my girlfriend left me. The benefits I have gotten are enormous and never in my life have I received so much female attention before.
