Sorry, but I can't get with this. I agree that porn is the greater evil than fapping, and fapping + porn is the worst. But my position is that for the purposes of this endeavor, you should do neither. Whether that is for 30 days, 90 days, 120 days, or whatever period of time one is doing the challenge. For me, No Fap goes beyond, if you will, the more mechanistic view of simply not watching porn and/or not masturbating. It is an opportunity to improve yourself and gain greater control over your actions. Abstaining from fapping is an important part of that, at least to me. Go out and smash women instead of fapping.
But nonetheless, as I mentioned a bit earlier, maybe we need to come up with different terms for what people are doing, since we have different definitions of what constitutes what. Some people are abstaining from porn, some people are abstaining from masturbation, and some are abstaining from both. Porn is often viewed as the best masturbation aid, and "fap" is generally slang for masturbation. To me, No Fap always meant avoiding both masturbation and porn.
Essentially, here's my logical process:
1. "Fap" means "masturbation."
2. Porn is generally used as a "masturbation aid." (rightly or wrongly, and putting aside how addicting it is for a moment)
3. You abstain from masturbation.
4. If you don't masturbate, there's no reason to be watching porn. Porn is also very likely to trigger masturbation.
So there's a feedback cycle. Masturbation --> Porn, or Porn --> Masturbation. So my position is, don't do either. Many people can masturbate without porn. But for those of us who have been porn addicts - even if you completed a reboot cycle of whatever length - masturbation can always trigger relapses into porn. Can you ever say that you've truly, 100% purged the addiction? It just seems like tempting fate to me (fapping without porn, but also watching porn but trying not to fap). Recovering meth addicts don't sit around looking at meth rocks all day. They should be avoiding them, period.
EDIT: Another part of it is that I don't think that abstaining only from porn is an equivalent endeavor to abstaining from masturbation and porn. The latter is definitely much tougher than the former, I'd argue.

Okay guys, I'm starting to get an impression that you feel Maori should be taken off the list, not because of the manual handling but more-so the fact that he was browsing with intent. Albeit not for intent to masturbate, but with intent for some kind of pleasure.
I guess we could say he pre-maturely ejaculated before he even had the chance. Damn Maori, why you gotta be so "exceptional" that you orgasm just from looking at porn?
In defence of his removal, he did count himself out anyway. It's just a shame that because of his "circumstances", he's much much MUCH more liable to relapse than someone else of his age, or even younger.
I'll take him off. So much for the loophole eh DavidInto- Mountaineering, running & Djent/Progressive music.

The first of those studies is about separating drug classification, and does nothing but stress how tame addiction symptoms are in marijuana users, the second is just results from a study of treating cannabis dependence, and doesn't confirm that it exists at all. The third only deals with the effectiveness of TREATING the disorder, again without confirming its existence, and the fourth I couldn't access from the article, but judging from the invalidity of the other three sources I'm skeptical as to its conclusion.
Do some ACTUAL research instead of searching out articles that confirm your opinion without looking into them.

I'm on no porn, but I haven't fapped as a result of no porn lol (going on 2 weeks). My question is, if you look at pics of girls in bikinis and stuff like that (or even the hnghh gifs on the misc) does it affect your mind the same way as porn? I'm not wanking to it or anything.

so from taking a look at the abstract you know that those say anything about cannabis dependence.
The fact that you think at 19 you're more qualified about the subject than the Ph.D.s who have actually studied this.. you must be some sort of genius
Cannabis dependence is recognized by the world health organization
From wiki
Research has shown the overall addiction potential for cannabis to be less than for caffeine,[18] tobacco, alcohol, ******* or heroin, but slightly higher than that for psilocybin, mescaline, LSD.[43] In a survey conducted by NIDA in 1994, epidemiologist James Anthony found that of those who tried marijuana at least once, about 9 percent eventually became addicted. While this is not negligible, it was still lower than other drugs which were evaluated. The corresponding figure for alcohol was 15 percent; for *******, 17 percent; for heroin, 23 percent; and for nicotine, 32 percent.[44]

I have no intention of replying to anything further, you've made your stance clear and I don't want to derail the thread any further.
On that note, day 59 no porn no fap no edging no hnng

Mate, you sound like a nutcase, and it is very clear you have an unhealthy view of drugs and are totally in denial about them. I'm sure you have even said that you love drugs in earlier posts. You talk about them a lot. Heres some evidence of weed addiction right here: the guy is feeling that he is having negative effects of smoking it and would like to cut down or quit, yet he finds this difficult or impossible to do.
Is this not addiction?
No?
Well then, whatever it is, it is a problem for him and he is asking for help. Do not tell him to keep smoking because that is a moronic thing to say and is NOT what he asked.

http://yourbrainonporn.com/90-days-w...thoughts-below
Found this link on yourbrainonporn, that explains that NO PORN IS WAY MORE IMPORTANT than no fap. Of course most people can't watch porn without fapping, but there are some people ITT that think that as long as they don't fap they're fine...
The guy in the link did a 90 day nofap, but experienced no benefits whatsoever. Why? He continued to watch porn

I agree with your post, and I do think it's a good idea to define what someone is working and that we don't all have to have the same goals. My personal view is it's all about self-mastery. I know I could fap without viewing porn easily. (I've have many many files stored in my brain). I don't know the science but I do believe that and deep inside we all know. That really this is more than just being able to get a bonar. Self-mastery = power, the power to blow thru our personal obstacles and lead out in positive ways in every area of our lives.
So inspiring to see you just moving solidly ahead, steadfast and unshakeable.
Yes yes it was.
Tobias giveth and Tobias taketh away. at first I was : ( but I know it's the right thing so now I'm : )
Me too! gonna go beast some legs.
Congrats it's always nice to see the weeks count off on chains. Why are you always ahead of me lol.
It would be cool to see us second wave of Kunts succeed. Let's make February our first solid month.
Dutch good to see you hanging in there even though depressed.... I know it will pass. You have a whole lot a kunts cheering you on.
It's always a cool feel to me to start being more aware of beauty all around us.You can, and need to find a ground that you know you are suppose to stand on.. hence, stand your ground, this is the place where you know everything is as it should be for you. If you stand in a place where you know in your heart things are wrong, most things around you will never be right.

I don't think we have even really touched the surface of understand exactly whats going on here. I believe that anytime we are making positive change in our life's that is putting us higher up to higher ground. As we reach higher ground we start to become aware of other changes we need to make. I like the Star Wars analogy, I do believe that there is some kind of force out there. And being able to dominate ones self gives us more and more self mastery and puts us in a position to use this force. While letting our minds, and body's just run off whilly nilly the opposite occurs. Instead of power we gain weakness. (how many of us have literally felt stronger in our work-outs from no-fap)(And when we relapse that feeling of strength leaving out bodies)
Basic equation self-control brings more self-control which results in increase in personal power and puts us in the Light. Loss of self-control makes puts us on a downward spiral that destroys power and our Vision for our lives is gone and we are left in darkness. ...... use the force young centrelink1 use the force. : )You can, and need to find a ground that you know you are suppose to stand on.. hence, stand your ground, this is the place where you know everything is as it should be for you. If you stand in a place where you know in your heart things are wrong, most things around you will never be right.
