Combat Protein - No BCAA or Glutamine - Should I take?

I purchased a bunch of Combat Protein from a large distributer and only realized until I received it that it doesn't have any BCAA's or Glutamine. Should I bother picking some up?

I also got some Fish oils from Myprotein, but after reading the label, it only contains 300mgs Omega 3, 180mg DHA and 240mg EPA. You guys seem to recommend 2-4g per day. I would need to take 10 capsules of this stuff just to keep up.

    Any recommendations for:

    BCAA (If necessary)
    Glutamine (If necessary)
    Fish Oil

    Thanks!

Protein is made up of amino acids, of which BCAAs and Glutamine are some... You do not need extra in your protein. You also do not need to supplement with BCAAs or Glutamine in general because 1) If you hit your daily protein requirement, BCAAs are largely unneeded and 2) Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the body already.

Thank you for the reply. I actually didn't know too much about this and started reading right after I made this thread and already regret it because this information was abundantly available and very quick to confirm.

I guess my only other question is about fish oils. What is a recommendation for a fish oil supplement with high amounts of Omega 3, EPA and DHA and is 2-4g daily really necessary?

Glad @compan took care of ya

As for fish oil, I personally shoot for 1g EPA/DHA daily.
It's a matter of personal preference (i.e, health benefits.. higher dose--> more acute benefits) and depending on how much fatty fish you eat on a weekly basis

Alright, so any recommendations for supplements where I dont have to take nearly 10 a day to get the benefits? My bottle would only last about two weeks at that rate. haha.

Bodybuilding.com signature brand or OxiMega for convenience.
Both on a deal right now.. and only requires 1-2 pill (for my preference)

Or Muscletech Fish Oil for affordability
Currently B1G1 and requires 3-4 pills. (for my preference)

You don't need supplements man. Find a more concentrated fish oil if that's what you want, but I'm not as bullish on fish oil as I once.

I hear you. I don't really eat alot of fish to begin with, so it may not be a horrible thing to take. I'm pretty neutral when it comes to supplements too. Are you a fan of multivitamins or do you find them overrated and or not effective?

Controlled Labs Orange Oximega Fish Oil currently Buy 1 - Get 1 50% off

    4 caps = 2.4g combined EPA/DHA

Actually a little over that probably as third party testing has shown it to slightly exceed label claims

Don't spend money on bcaa or glutamine
