August 30th - WOTLK Pre-Patch releases. Fresh Start servers are created. Death Knights may be created. You can make your first DK on any non-fresh-start server with ZERO requirements, however only 1 per server. After your first DK, you need a 55+ character on a server to make one. If you want a DK on a fresh start server, you must level 1-55 first as something else. ALL SERVERS GET A 50% EXP BOOST DURING PRE-PATCH.

September 6 - 13: Zombie Plague event

September 13 - 25: Scourge Invasion

Sept 26th - WOTLK is actually launched

EU Fresh Start Servers:

Thekal (PvP)

Ya boi is planning on rolling into the fresh start server USA PVP Skyfury, open minded about the faction, but leaning towards Horde as I always do. Leaning towards making a huntard, getting it to 55, then maining a Death Knight. Hunter will be an alt. Doubt I'll make any other alts, but if I did it'd be any of Mage/Rogue/Warrior/Warlock.

Let's get some conversations about WOTLK Classic. I actually took off work on Tues + Weds for this lol.

I've always mained a warlock in every expansion.. really wanted to start a melee class but it just seems so difficult to fight during a boss fight since I cant see my character.

I went ahead and subbed today, getting excited about tomorrow! Logged in to get some add-ons and system settings figured out.

Gonna have some fun snacks and alcohol throughout.

Leaning towards Blood Elf BM Huntard for 1-55, then main a DK. Maybe after reaching 70 on the DK I'll get the huntard to 70, if I have time for such a thing.

No more! Hunter is new to me. Technically Hunter was my first ever character, but I gave up on him around level 25, towards the end of TBC, and went rogue as my main in WOTLK. TBH I think being rogue sounds fun as hell for an alt for PvP gank purposes, however I realize that being a rogue (even with 50% exp boost) would be disadvantageous for the 1->55 journey.

I'd say so, I went back and forth each expansion, it made for a different experience and a fresh feeling.

The time period from WOTLK pre-patch to killing heroic (hard mode back then) LK 25 with the guild was the greatest gaming experience of my life. The guild I found, the lifelong friends I made, the fulfilling of all the WoW goals I wanted to accomplish. The idea of returning to such a nostalgic experience just to get a less than half assed version of the original adventure makes me not want to do it.

Original S3+S4 gladiator checking in (no fraud). Could never find a non-retard partner through TBCC and couldn't even get past 1700, although I haven't really played since the first season. It was probably as likely just me getting older and slower though so w/ever. But arena frustration aside, I've had a blast through classic + TBCC playing shadowpriest. Can't wait for WOTLk classic. Got my alt warrior sitting at 65 with about 75k honor saved up. Going to buy him the full S4 set as soon as pre-patch hits and wreck some bgs.

What's the logic for rolling on the fresh servers though? I mean I totally get wanting to relive the feeling etc... but I'm sure I'll get bored of it in the mid 30s. On the other hand the chance at a new community within which I can make a 'name' for myself by going full degen does sound appealing. I won't have any chance @ shadowmourne on my current war, but maybe if I get into a good, tight-knit guild on wotlk fresh I could eventually have a shot at it. Hmmmm....

fresh server = new economy, everyone starts at the same point

if you go on a tbc server everyone already has tons of gold, flying mounts, botting, etc..

I like mages but have always rolled warlock as main. Might be interesting to do mage this time around but is the best spec typically frost? Kind of boring to play

Yes level 1, with the inability to make a DK until you hit 55 on something else first. 50% exp boost. Even without the boost 1->60 is faster in WOTLK than TBC/Vanilla, the talents and skills are better, power in general is better, and I think exp is a little more generous by default.
