Yeah, Braun is going to left and Bill Hall will take his spot at third. It will be nice to have stability in the future.

If Bill Hall's numbers at the plate improve, can you move him off of third? Right field may be a better fit for Braun, if Hall steps up.

Jeffress could wind up being our best pitching asset if he starts focusing on what matters.

As far as being a closer goes, it's really wait and see; by the time he comes up it's possible Manny Parra could have taken the job.

The OF is locked up for a long time with Braun, Hart, LaPorta, Gywnn, and currently Cameron; I can't see Bill Hall playing anywhere other than third, or SS or 2B when Hardy or Weeks need a day off. With the way injuries happen though, he's a great guy to plug in almost anywhere around the field.

He doesn't even explain why. All he does is babble about Gagne's issue that was relevant four years ago.

    Let him walk.

It's up to him to prove whether or not he can handle being our ace. I could see us resigning him at a discount price if he winds up struggling with his health this year, though.

"How many wins will it take to win the NL Central?" http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/index.jsp?c_id=mil

    90-94 got my vote.
Cardinals, Pirates, and Reds still have a lot of holes to hill, but I still see the Reds and Cardinals taking wins away from the rest of the division. It will be close, but I'd say 93 wins will do it.

    Agreed.

Let another team overspend for a pitcher who cannot stay healthy. The only way he stays healthy, for a major portion of the season, is because he is in his contract year. We can guess what would happen after he signs another deal.

Speaking of injury-prone pitchers, how do you think Kerry Wood will hold up as the Cubs closer?

Yup, and it's not like we don't have a lot of starters who can step in. If Capuano rebounds and performs well then he should be in the rotation as well. Even the Jeffress kid from the minors has a future spot on the team, although it's a couple years away.

Over/Under a month. Arm problems for a pitcher are no joke; he'll have to prove he can stay healthy before I'd take stock in him.

The Brewers should try to have someone mentor Jeffress so he can lead to lay of the weed. He has a lot of money waiting in the majors if he can. With that fastball, he could make an excellent closer.

I hope he went to rehab to address the weed issue, because he's been caught three times already and things like that just don't go away. We'll see what happens; kid has talent oozing from him, but it's up to him whether or not he wants to be a major league pitcher or not.

I did not even know that people went to rehab for weed until Michael Vick tried to use it as an excuse to get out of prison early.

Yeah, a lot of NBA/NFL players have wound up going. Not too many in baseball, although baseball's issue is an entirely different thing altogether.

To be honest, the quickest way to eliminate it from sports (or any other rec drug for that matter) is to have a ban from the sport. Many people would be much less likely to take the risk then.

True, but then what happens when Jeffress gets caught again.
