Hey everyone hope you enjoyed your valentines day with your loved one and also enjoying this presidents day off if you have it off.
Yesterday Patty and I went out to eat at a hibachi restaurant, it was indoors and man was it nice to see the place packed with people enjoying themselves. Funny thing we had to have our mask on while we waited to be seated, had our temperature taken but then once we were seated everyone could take off their mask
Anyway at our table were 4 couples, Patty and I, an older couple maybe mine and Patty's age his wife/girlfriend was fake (fake boobs, fake lips, fake butt) but freaking hot! A lesbian couple and a young normal couple.
The night went on and no one really spoke to each other just to their own couple, but at the end when we were all waiting to pay the guy with the fake girlfriend said to me, hey man how long have you been training? and this shocked me because I had on a dressy button down shirt and in my opinion I always look small in clothes or the do you even lift look.
I told the guy I've been training for a while now and he was like kool man you look great, I wish I had your commitment. That was it, but for a total stranger to say that to me, while I have on a shirt that to me hides my build entirely, totally made my night!
Just thought I share.

I think the compliment means more in your 50's than it would have in your 40's. And in 10 years? Even more precious.
I don't have near the build you do, but when my wife and I went to a public "gym" (it was Planet Fitness ) I received many compliments after cranking out a set of pull-ups of 12 or more. It made me feel good. No doubt about it.Pull-Up PR: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=177233951

I did a software training for a bunch of ladies, must have been 6-7 years back now. One woman came up to me and said "you must be a bodybuilder, I know the look because my Husband is a retired competitive Bodybuilder." I was flattered, but had only been lifting 5-6 years, I told her that was a huge compliment and asked about her husband. I was wearing a medium fit company logo button down shirt, not anything I thought I looked good in.
These days if you don't have a beer belly and have decent shoulders, you're OK I guess.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Nice story, so true in getting a compliment and especially when you least expect it. I remember a few years ago going out to pick up some stuff and on arrival I noticed the guy eyeing up my arms, he eventually asked what gym I went to, I told him I don't, only ever worked out at home. We got chatting and he started asking me all sorts of questions.
I recon if I hadn't been wearing a vest and the arms covered up with a long sleeved shirt I probably wouldn't of got this attention.Tennis balls?...........my Biceps are as big as Grapefruits!

Agree, it's a small reward to go with the big ones (increased physical and mental health, longevity, etc).
Still nice
Since changing my eating and changing from weight room casual to really training 4 months ago I have been getting compliments at work - I usually wear a button up or polo - but still noticeable.
The best compliments come from my wifeIt's never too late!

Actually the conversation home was more on the woman, who obviously was much younger than the guy she was with and how fake she was. My wife was saying that she can't understand why women go through al those surgeries, she said she understand maybe some lipo, but to restructure your whole body she couldn't understand it. I told her, I do the same thing, but just in bodybuilding and she said, but would you do it via surgery? And of course I said no.
I think your arms show through several layers of clothing
I don't take compliments from my wife as she thinks I always look good and I don't need that, I need constructive criticism... But one thing she does do and I take it very seriously is when she says, John you are getting skinny you have to go back to the gym because I know at that point I must be looking really bad..But for example right now she thinks I look great and I am like what??? I got a long fcking way to go..
LOL I'll take itOn the list for Bannukah
