    Cutting tips

    no hover *******s

    -[

So, I'm about to start my cut, since I started my bulking at the start of this year when I originally started lifting.
I originally was planning to lower calorie intake and continue until i start seeing results, but I've had some advice from people telling me the best way to lose bodyfat is just to cut 1 carb source out of my diet every week and repeat until im left with only enough to hit my macros.
Im guessing this is going to take 6-10 weeks

Is this the best way to do it?
    I understand its subjective

OP, calories in VS. calories out
So if you cut a carb source out of your diet, it means you are cutting calories out of your diet. Once you are at a point where you are eating below your maintenance, you will lose weight.
However, there is no significant advantage of keeping carb low on a cut. There is an advantage to get at least 1g/lb of body weight of protein to ensure maximum muscle retention. Also, make sure you hit your fat requirement.

    Good luck

I know this.... its not like i was going to cut my meals down to 2 a day.
I know what cal in vs cal out is I was simply inquiring if it was possible to cut a carb source out each week whist replacing it with something else.

    For example.

In meal 1 I have 2 bowls of oats, 4 eggs and a protein shake.
Could i cut a bowl of oats out and add more eggs, assuming i was still going to end up hitting my macros at the end of the day?
And continue to substitute my carb sources for more protein or w/e each week so i retain muscle instead of going on a straight calorie deflict

Well if you cut 200 calories of oats and replace it with 200 calories of eggs you are not going to cut anything. Think about it OP.

Why do some folks spend so much time and effort trying to figure out the wrong way to do things rather than simply doing things the right way?

All you are doing by cutting out those carbs and opting for other sources is reducing your extracellular water weight, which will greatly effect your performance and energy, let alone your ability to maintain muscle. Opt for calories in vs. calories out. However, I am a big fan of cycling carbs due to the effect it has on glycogen and aiding in fat loss.

Not from a nutrition standpoint, but due to less energy and decreased ability to generate ATP reactions (since carbs function as a source of chemical energy for ATP production) that workout performance would be hindered

But dietary fat produces slightly greater nitrogen retention than CHO and thus, during a cut, it can be more protective of LBM. Additionally, some folks perform better on a lower CHO diet and some perform better on a higher CHO diet.

    not sure if srs?
why would i replace it to try to hit the same amount of cals?
im only replacing it to keep energy levels up + so i can still be eating enough cals by the end of the day,
say if i ate oats for lunch that was about 500 cals, and replaced it with a chicken breast i would be about -250 cals

    Think about it

    Tips I go by.

    1) Stick to your diet, only planned cheat meals or refeeds allowed
    2) somewhere around 2 pound weight loss a week
    3) plenty of water
    4) stick to your diet, only planned cheat meals or refeeds allowed!!!

1 and 4 are where people tend to fck up

Yes because dietary fat contains the highest potential energy with 9 calories per gram, which is one of the main reasons why, but I do agree that it is all dependent on how the individual's body reacts to lower vs. higher carbs on workout performance. I was saying in general, the majority of individual's workouts suffer when on low calorie
