    Barbell Deadlifts vs Trapbar Deadlift

    What's best?

TrapBar - more balanced not as much strain on top of back, feels more natural and can lift heavier

Barbell - Used by most bodybuilders, had been proven to get mass on your back! feels a bit awkward as the bar touches the shins at times and awkward bent over position on the bar.

Which one is best? I want to get as much mass on my back as i can.

    Advice would be much appreciated

    Best depends on goals.

Since you want to work your back, I'd suggest conventional deadlifts.

Trap bar deads are more akin to squats than they are deadlifts.

Although i would personally choose barbell for deads or racks, you should be able to grow with pretty much everything at you age and weight/height.
Fork and spoon are your BBs and DBs.Eat.STUDY NUTRITION.

Barbell 100% for back. I find that driving through with my hips and the bend feel more of a contraction in my lower back/hamstring using a barbell

Well doing the barbell deadlift is more likely to gain me more mass on my back, but i just feel that doing the trapbar deadlift puts less strain on the back but still get gains. I dont really want to mess my back up at my age.

    My back workout consists of

    Wide grip pull ups
    Deadlift
    Cable (straight back) seated row
bent over row ( free weights )

    Good?

i'd put bent over rows in there early in the workout so my lower back isn't tired from the deads

    -bent over rows
    -pullups/pulldowns
    -seated rows
    -partial deads

    that's how i'd do it

You can do whichever exercises you want to. It is your call, we aren't here to force you.

Trap bar deads are more of a leg exercise than they are a back exercise.

If you have proper form, you should have no more risk doing conventional deads than trap bar deads.

I prefer BB due to the extensive quadriceps involvement with hex bar lifts.
Bodybuilding is 60% training and 50% diet. Yes that adds up to 110%, because that's what you should be giving it. Change the inside, and the physique will follow.

I like rack deadlifts over both...

However, for grip reasons, I'd choose the trapbar...

And, the best mass gainers are the ones that we don't do EVERY DAMN TIME, so alter up exercises with variety...barbell and trapbar.
