Bill is dead and buried. And it's not like Ruger doesn't put out any pistols that carry more than 10-rds. His legacy, for the most part, is just the name.
Non-innovative is just another phrase for, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. They work, are reliable, competitively priced for the features you get. Granted, there isn't the huge after-market in parts and accessories (excluding the 10/22) in it's center fire pistols, but most people just want to buy a gun, and keep it stock, no fuss, no muss. They aren't looking at innovative just for the sake of being innovative.
I like the SR compact for the stock trigger, and I'm hesitant about getting the American compact in that it doesn't have as a nice trigger. The ranges here where you can rent a gun don't have an American Compact for rental.
The only thing I don't like about the SR compact is the mag disconnect. That's a bummer, but I live with it. I actually do like the chamber indicator flag, and the internal trigger safety. I could do without the thumb safety, but that isn't a concern. If I were to get an American Compact, I'd get the Pro version (no thumb safety).
Reason I like the chamber indicator flag is that my SR9c is both my edc, and one of my HD guns, so I swap out the 10rd/17rd mag, lights, holster every time I walk in and out of the house. Though I always keep one in the chamber, it's gotten so routine swapping from edc to HD, that I like to know the condition without a press check.Last edited by Tuksonrider; 01-18-2018 at 10:18 AM.

Let me know when any of the new Ruger semi autos has the proven track record of Glock, CZ 75 series, etc.
Then I may consider one.

I considered a Glock 19 and fired it many times, but 2 things drew me away from it. Looks (subjective), price (Glock was $100 more), and trigger (SR9c was nicer).
Both guns go "bang" when you pull the trigger, but as an edc, you want the gun you want to carry, that you want to practice with.
If I fell in love with a hipoint, I'd carry a hipoint. If I fell in love with a glock, I'd carry a glock. I just happen to fall in love with the SR9c, mainly the trigger, looks, and price was right for the features it presented.I'm not blessed with riches, but I am rich with blessings.
Thank you, LORD, my God.

Me too. I really like my Sr9C and there are torture tests comparing to glock. Both are proven reliable. Sr9c has better trigger. I shoot my Sr9c very well, better than anything else and I'm not sure why, I bought the full size and don't shoot it as well. I rarely (never) carry the Sr though, its just a bit "chunky" compared to shield. I do carry LCP380 a lot in the summer when I need deep concealment. Would not want to be in a gun fight with the LCP, but I try to avoid those regardless....

Hmmm, wife just called and said the shower is being fuky.
All the faucets in the house work fine but both the hot and cold lines in the shower are just trickling water. My dad went over and didn't see any signs of busted lines. Guessing they're just semi frozen blocking water flow? Seems odd that both would be ding it though.

I doubt they are frozen, how cold is it there? If its super cold (which it cant be in the sweltering hell hole that is LA) leave it on a trickle to keep the pipes from freezing completely. What can happen is if there are copper water lines mixed with other metals, without a galvanic protection device they can become clogged with sediment. Basically you can get a galvanic reaction and it will build up until the lines are plugged. I replaced all of my copper lines in my bathroom due to some previous owner not installing the correct fittings. 3/4" lines had about a pencil sized opening.

I’ve had 3 leaks in 2 weeks. fml. 2 were for sure non weather related (different topic for a different day)
Today, my faucet in the kitchen was running fine and then slowed to a trickle. I left it on and it started running again after a couple of minutes. I suppose the supply line was partially frozen. Good luck with yours

Ya that's not cold enough, water freezes at a lower temperature when under pressure in a pipe, its probably galvanic reaction if you have copper pipes.
Edit to add:
If its just the shower head that's trickling, take that off and soak it in a bucket of CLR first, sometimes those just plugged up from mineral deposits. If the water coming out of the tub faucet is weak though, you gonna be doin some plumbin.

Also note the position of the shower lines in the house, ours are damn near the center of the house, while some sink lines are along an outside wall, if the sink works but the shower doesn't it is also unlikely to be because of freezing problems.
Relentless, how smart is your wife and what's the water generally like in the house? Our shower slows when the washer is filling a load, add that with someone using the sink and another flushing the toilet and the shower practically stops. But This is a 1917 house.Rugby Crew

I think I finally got a pretty good edge on the Delica 4. Went back with the Spyderco Sharpmake and used the fine and ultra fine rods then put it on an old leather belt.
I never try anything I just do it!

Yet another smash-n-grab for guns in the Denver metro area . . . right down the road from my house. I go here all the time for various stuff, although have never bought a gun from there. It's a pretty small area in the store way at the back corner. There have been multiple of these down on the south end of town near me.

At least six burglars broke into a Littleton store early Thursday morning and stole several guns, authorities say.
No one has been arrested in the 4:16 a.m. burglary of Murdoch’s Ranch and Home store at 12154 N. Dumont Way.
The burglars broke through a gate to gain access to the inside of the store, said Lauren LeKander, spokeswoman for the Douglas County Sheriffs Department.*MFC Elder Statesmen Cabinet Crew*

What are you guys using to prepare your taxes? I usually have somebody do it, but thought about doing it myself this year. She charges $60 for Federal and State (non-EZ form).
