I have a pit...a very small one(40lbs), and let me tell you that although she is the SWEETEST thing in the world and would never hurt a fly, if she decided to, I would be scared for my life. she doesn't feel ANY pain ever. If an 80lbs+ pitbull was up against almost any animal in the world, itd win.

Depends if the pitbull is trained to fight. The pitbull is a stronger dog, but if it is a domestic pitbull vs. a wild hyena(sp?), the pitbull could lose. The pitbull is just genetically more capable with it's stronger jaw structure.

Make it a female Hyena. I believe they are slightly larger and more aggressive than the males, and do the hunting.

well considering female lions do the hunting, I think he'd do half way decent. might not win...but he'd do well.

I'd think they're smaller size would help them. It'd be much harder for the pit to get it's neck or anything else vital.

my 40lbs pit has figure out that she has strong enough jaws/teeth to take down trees in my yard. yes trees. not some great oak or anything, but trees with about a 6-9" diameter. she is insane with those jaws.

So by the time a pit bent down to clamp its jaws around a TD's back don't you think its throat would already be ripped out? Dogs instinctively go for the neck and I don't think a TD would let it get in any position to get to its neck.
