Well hello folks. After talking it over with a few others, CHRIS925, ErickStevens, and I decided to start up a joint PL lawg. We are all bodybuilders, turned offseason powerlifters. Eric has a couple meets under his belt, I just completed my first, and Chris is preparing his angus for his first. Just a way for us all to keep on track and motivate each other. Be forewarned, its going to get reaaaal ghey up in here. So gay Richard Simmons rollerskating in backwards assless chaps while sucking on a lollypop will look straight. We want to prove bodybuilders dont just look pretty, although we all have some ugly mugs.....except for Chris, hes cute as fu*k. I dont want to bore you all with too fancy of an intro so Ill link you to your contest prep logs for more info.

A brief primer on me: I'm the meat in this manwich when it comes to my numbers but if I don't start improving Chris will catch up to me in no time. I'm currently dieting down to 190 and using Westside's methodology.

I've noticed that natural bodybuilders like yourselves seem to do pretty well at crossing over to powerlifting because of their intense focus on diet and recovery--something that's a must with high volume routines like Sheiko, etc.
I'll be interested to see all of you guys' progress.637/390tng/615 - belt/wraps, best gym lifts.

Alright enough about the other two fairies in here..
Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Chris. The boss dawg of the lifting kingdom. The weak 'beta *******' of the bunch-- if you will.
Since these foolz didn't mention a single thing about PLing.. Here's where I'm at:
- Trying to get strong for the first time ever.
- Currently 13 weeks into WSB. Seeing awesome gains.
- Currently my 2nd week of pec/shoulder de-loading since I strained it a couple weeks back
- Doin' my first meet in April if all goes as planned
Gym maxes (big 3) before starting WSB:
Squat: 345
Bench: 310
Dead: 395
Current gym maxes (prior to the pec strain):
Squat: 405
Bench: 325
Dead: 505
A couple recent lifting vidz:

MISC: Honestly Im obliterated. First run of deads wasnt too bad actually. I noticed I feel stronger pulling sumo even though it feels super awkward pulling mixed grip like that. Last set I did conventional and it felt A LOT heavier. The bench volume killed me. My chest was so toast even trying to maintain form was a challenge since my shoulders were starting to really recruit. On the last 2 or so sets of those higher reps I had to to touch and go to make it through. The DB flys were even difficult as silly as that sounds. Rack deads.....forget it. Hands were trashed I had to use straps. Doing so burst all the capillaries in my hands. The sets of 575 were unreal. Felt like my body was going to snap in half. Im surprised I made it through actually. FML. I really wish I just ran 37 again. Ill see if I cant continue but I literally feel on the verge of injury.Last edited by Slovation; 02-09-2012 at 08:41 PM.

Off day today. I knocked out an episode and a half of Fringe on the treadmill and that show is now my new addiction. It should make getting on the hamster wheel a little more tolerable. Weight is right around 197. My current macros right now are around 300P/125C/80F. I hit these 6 days per week and usually have a high carb day or cheat meal at some point during the week, usually on a date night with my fiance or at family dinner. I think Berto is going to have me sticking to these numbers for the rest of February trying to whittle me down closer to the low 190s. Then after that the plan is to bump the cals and get me stronger, slowly but surely. Considering the fact that I've spent the duration of my short powerlifting career in a caloric deficit, I'm looking forward to see what I can do once I'm eating like a grown man."Nutrition for powerlifting: If you are serious about it, you will eat f*cking everything and get strong as $hit." - HamburgerTrain

If you think that's a rough Sheiko routine, you should see the one I completed a while back. I did Belyaev's monthly routine from Sept 2008.
For those who don't know Belyaev, he totaled 2,028 raw without knee wraps @ 220 lbs.
I attached the spreadsheet for Belyaev's routine.
I know how those second sessions of deadlifts off blocks are. One day my hands were so torched I left the gym, left my barbell with almost 600 lbs on it, drove home, got my straps, and came back and completed the sets.637/390tng/615 - belt/wraps, best gym lifts.

MISC: Week 1 of 40 is in the books. It feels as if I setup the program off maxes that are too high. So damn taxing. I dont see how people can make it out of the gym in under 2 1/2 hours. On paper today didnt look too bad, but that was not considering the fact my entire posterior chain is disentegrated. There is no way u can make it through without taking long rests in between those heavy sets. I had a spot for my sets of 455 squats and I can guarentee you I would have not made it through without one. After the first set my mind was full of fuk. Just knowing someone was there in case was necessary. I had to lay down in between those sets. If someone thinks they can handle volume/taxing training, 40 IMO would be a good way to get humbled. IF I make it through the whole 4 weeks Im going to just run 37 after this. I believe I found my limit when it comes to volume. 40 is a little much for me. Im hoping something magical will happen over the weekend and my body will adapt to this volume lol. Inb4imaragingvagina.556/325/622 - 1504 total raw @ 193
