Sadly Puyallup River is closing after today (4-30).
Solid beer for any style they brewed. Nothing ground breaking amazing.
Costco sold their bombers for $3.99; I would usually get one whenever I would go.

I read that as well, at least the headline and a few post in BA. Not sure how I feel about this. That's like having the older boring sister to date or wanting the younger more adventurous one. On the good side, it's better than a conglomerate buy out. Bad side, it's Sam Adams, and does't Frank Koch hate IPA's? ETA on $500 120 Utopias.

I don't even remember the last time I drank anything from Sam Adams. Probably has been 4-5 years.

I might of had a Sam Adams Boston Lager a couple of yrs ago. Other than that, nada and I only usually drink maybe 6 DFH a year.

Ughhhh that's awful. Didn't know him personally, but we were Untappd buddies. I think we may have even traded a couple times via this thread. Damn man. Thoughts are with his fam and friends. Rest in peace Zach.

God this was amazing!
It was only available at the brewery.
Regular 9lb Porter isn't bad either.


Finally found a small 200ml of the Stout edition.
Not bad, but probably won't get a fifth unless it's on sale for a good price.


As a Metallica fan, I had to try this.
Not bad, but why a Pilsner?
Stone, Metallica, and a Pilsner beer? Should have been something hoppy or dark.

Just a few years ago, Sculpin was all the rage and bottle shops, alehouses and bars would advertise that they had it in stock and/or on-tap.
Now bottle shops around here in Seattle, don't even carry anything from them.
I haven't seen anything from them on a tap list at bars or alehouses in years.

I see Victory at Sea regularly at one of the local shops, but other than that, no idea. Used to see Grapefruit Sculpin quite a bit.

The founders of the brewery sold it to a huge company for $$$, then left the beer industry all together.
I can now see why places don't want to carry their stuff.

They tanked hard after the purchase. Only thing new they were putting out is flavored Sculpin and flavored VaS.

I see all of the sculpins here quite often and carried by everyone.

It’s a constellation brand product so they will focus BP on the mass produced items. I never thought they were that great from the beginning. I think the last ipa from them I had was Manta Ray and it was terrible.

BA Vic at sea was decent at least, along with some of their variants
