When someone is young and unable to live alone in a large space. They get used to being packed into a small space. Have room mates. No real privacy. Etc. As you mature and enjoy a bit more financial freedom and get to experience spreading out a bit more its hard to imagine going back.

I'm sure people in cramped cities just never get to experience that unless they are wealthy AF.
Agreed. Made some sacrifices for space in my early to mid 20s sharing spaces with people to get my down payment saved. I've looked into condos and larger apartments to keep all the maintenance down (more free time), but I don't like the inner city living and less space aspect at all, there's also no space to work on my cars. So I don't plan or anticipate on ever doing that type of move into less space. Space and having an open property are at the top of my priorities now. And like you say, I believe it's a path to maturity that most people end up wanting at some point.

Honestly, one of the few things I fear is reverting back to cramped living.

My aging Uncle lives alone in a huge 5 bedroom house and has done for over 20 years. This place is enormous.

I live alone in a 3 bedroom house, one spare bedroom has a proper bed in it and is livable. The other is a much smaller box room which is basically just a storage room.

Such a waste of space and $$ to buy a house being single. That's why I'll continue to rent and at most buy a condo. I already feel like a 1100 sq ft space is too much at times.

will probably by a home within the next year or two,

    would honestly be nice

2 bedrooms, can just use 1 for an office space/home entertainment

probably use some area/room as a home gym

    garage for vehicle/storage

doesn't need to be that big of a house though, thinking around 1400 sqft. plus visitors i guess unless you're a complete recluse

    House by myself crew

It's not that I need the space in the house, it's just that I needed a big garage to store my motorcycles and cars, and to work on them. And you can't get that in a condo. So I bought a house. But yeah it's mostly empty LOL.

All I need room for is a corvette, sportbike, boat and tools.
You don't even need the camper unless you want to also travel in it. My uncle bought some land in the country and put a large metal building. He has a kitchen area/living quarters and the rest is garage/workspace. He did the camper thing initially but eventually decided to 'finish' a small portion of his shop and do a loft area. As a bachelor this is the GOAT life-style IMO.

These are big considerations for myself as well. I don't know how dudes can cope living in a city/ apartment.

Yeah I spend 90% of my time in the extra "bedroom" which is an office.

I sleep in the other bedroom.

I never use the living room. Haven't sat on the couch in 6+ months, TV has been unplugged for over a year srs

Don't even use the dining room table. I just eat in the office like a scrub.

700 sq feet would be perfect for me. I dont use all this space I have now tbh

i think ~1000 is plenty for someone by themselves

i predict that energy is going to become far more expensive and the grids will be far less stable thanks to green commie ******* policy and adding millions of electric cars

as such, having a small, well-insulated house with a secondary/tertiary heating source is gonna be really important

Who cares what you do with the extra space......a house is an investment.

unless you buy in a chit school district or a moderate to high crime area or an area where people park in their front yards or don't cut their grass or have dogs on chains or you get packages stolen off your porch.

Currently rent, but don't see a problem living alone in a house. Would be fun as ****, only downside is having to furnish it all. Will prob do that when I get a little older.

Yes, apartment living can suck if you share walls with noisy neighbors.
