    Squatted twice my weight!

Broke the 100kg(220lbs) barrier today, did 110kg(240lbs) which twice my weight, I'm pleased! 5 reps, 3 with good form, 2 were a bit off, was swinging some but it was also due to lack of focus, you think it would be realistic to aspire to reach to around 180kg(400lbs) within a year? or am I shooting too high?

Congrats bro, but you're gonna hurt yourself bad if you keep going with bad form. If you can't do another rep with perfect form, don't try it. You're squatting a lot of weight for your body, don't risk it.
Look under your chair. YOU GET A REP, AND YOU GET A REP, REPS FOR EVERYONE! If I get a rep, you get a rep, every time. Give me a link to make my life a little easier.

If you don't give me a link and you didn't post in the thread you rep'd me in, I'm not gonna go searching for you. I'll get everyone on recharge.

GJDM just a couple of questions though....

could you describe swinging during HEAVY squats? i tend to want to goodmorning the weight if i dont watch my form closely but i dont think i have ever swung. just curious.

    why dont you eat more?
You would be surprised just how much time I have to waste.

Thanks! , yea I know good form is important, specially at high weights, but I did 4 clean sets of 100 and still had some juice left and just had to try 2xbody weight, think I'm gonna do the same twice more, then maybe see if I can push 3 sets of the 110, that's pretty much how I've been doing it so far with good results, well swinging maybe sounds a bit exaggerated but my balance shifted backwards some and I straitened up a bit, I eat and I know you all gonna say just eat more but my metabolism is really crazy fast and the more I eat the faster it gets and chasing it is just not worth the work imo, I keep a good diet and eat the max I can but I don't "force-feed", I continue to grow in strength and appearance, can't really see why the number in the scale should matter.

This. I don't know what squatting 2x BW is like. But I also don't know what being 120lb at 5' 7 is like.

Yeah I was confused (and a little scared) about the swinging, how does that happen? Congrats though man! 400 in a year might be pushing it though, but hey, anything is possible...gotta get a lot of mass...

because muscle=weight. the more you weigh usually the more muscle you have. then translates to more you can lift.

Yea but by gaining strength by adding new muscle mass you loss relative strength which to me is more important then maximum strength, when my strength gains will start slowing down I'll go for some more mass but at the moment I just can't be hassled with trying to bulk. And no cam at the moment to take a video, should have in two weeks.

Why does everyone want videos? 2x BW is kind of a standard Squat; like Benching your bodyweight or Deadlifting 3x BW.

A good milestone; but nothing spectacular.

Btw, OP. congrats! I'm shooting for a 2x BW Squat next week.

Not average; I haven't seen many gym-goers Deadlift 2x their BW with good form.

But it's a pretty standard point to shoot for as a powerlifter; which is how I'm training, atm. I guess they might have different standards.

It's nothing spectacular to be Deadlifting 3x your BW.

2x BW is above average. 2.5x BW is considered advanced, and 3x BW deadlift is generally regarded as elite.

Seriously? I thought the standards were much higher than that...

But it can't be 100% accurate; I'm still a beginner, and a 2.5x pull for me would be around 370.

Depending on your weight it shifts. At your weight, you would need to pull about 480 for "elite" category. At my weight, I'd need about 550.

you think it would be realistic to aspire to reach to around 180kg(400lbs) within a year?
    No

And at 120 lbs, your metabolism CANNOT be very high due to thermodynamic laws. You just eat little.
