    Craving salt before bed

Since I have been working out harder I have been craving salt like crazy right before bedtime. So far I have been able to avoid the cravings but is there anything that will help (other than a salt lick)?

Haha, this is the first time I've ever heard this one in my life. "OMFG I NEED SALT NOW!!!!!!1" Wow, just wow.
"Everyone thinks they're on their way to single digit body fat as soon as they see a blurry four-pack in the right lighting.Your final body weight at 5-6% will be a lot less than what you think.Talk to me again when you get in contest shape." I'd be willing to say that 95% of people on this forum accomplish nothing in years, don't be one of those people. It's sad, they seem to have the knowledge many don't but can't utilize it.

This. It should help. Other than that, I also have never heard of a salt craving, are you drinking enough water?

I know it seems really odd... I am not hungry just wanting salt.
I drink enough water but I was wondering if I am not getting enough of something. I will try a spoonful of PB or cottage cheese (though I would be tempted to sprinkle salt on it)!

Lots of people on diets avoid sodium but it is a necessary nutrient you need to regulate blood pressure and hormone levels. Make sure you are getting enough (2200mg a day is max but make sure your at least reaching 1400mg) and you might even need more if you are very active and/or sweat a lot. Listen to your body, if its wanting salt, give it salt. Cottage cheese is high in sodium, or have some soup. I hate how the media has made sodium so evil like fat. People forget that moderation is key.

Why don't you just take a teaspoon of salt on it's own--I bet you'll never crave salt again.

this is actually good advice. take a teaspoon scoop of PB but try to limit it to 1 or 2 per evening so you don't go overboard with it.

Oh and drink plenty of water. I always try to satiate any cravings w/ a lot of water.

If your a girl, you can always cure that "salt" craving real easily with a man lol. Otherwise, down some cashews. Those are great!

    Exclamation Yoo hoo

Thomas DeLauer on YouTube talks about the importance of putting sea salt in your water every day. Especially if you’re working out a lot and also when you’re avoiding carbs. The same thing happens to me. It works

If you workout more and drink more, then yes you will need more salt. You have cravings for a reason. Especially true if you don't eat a lot of processed foods, where salt is added.
