I say this all the time.
Communist homo Buttiegeg and traitor Vindman are perfect examples.
Not all who wear / wore the uniform are honorable people.
Mercahns are so quick to say 'thank you for your service' thinking all military people are heroes.
I can name many more well-known former servicemembers who became politicians in gubmint who failed the Duty, Honor, Country motto.
Get woke. Stat woke. Spread the woke.

Please explain how LTC Vindman is a traitor.
Also, you lose all credibility and just sound like a moron when you use terms like "Homo".
Your little anti Gubmint schtick is played out. You are not "woke", you do not know secret truths that only you are smart enough to unlock, you are not a superior intellect (at all) and everyone who doesn't listen to your bigoted and braindead conspiracy site drivel are not sheep.
You are just an attention seeking loon screeching on the internet and regurgitating catchphrases from Alex Jones.Last edited by eomrat; 02-21-2020 at 06:57 AM.

I understand the sentiment that not all ex military folks are deserving of praise. Attended high school with a guy who I was acquaintance of but not a close friend, after school he joined the Marines and served 4-6 years. After he got out he hooked up with another piece of $hit whom I also knew personally and they got into drug dealing. One night a deal of theirs went sideways and they killed 2 guys at a local gas station and then torched the place in an attempt to cover it up. One of the kids murdered was the sheriffs nephew so that didn't work out well for these @ssclowns. They are both serving life sentences and the one who was a marine has been fighting extradition to Arizona where he is the prime suspect in another murder that occurred while he was in the service. There are great people in the service as well as ex military, but then just like in every profession there are real dirtbags who don't deserve any respect.

I once had a co-worker whose 3rd cousin's wife's ex-husband knew this girl's brother that worked in a mall food court who said his friend's mechanic once thought about checking his white privilege. That makes me more woke than every one of you mother ****ers!

Soldier worship is a recruiting tool, first and foremost. The benefit there is obvious; you get impressionable young people to sign up to do something that, objectively, is a horrible idea most of the time. However, it's also a social tool.
By social tool I mean that its powerful propaganda that instills certain ideas about war in the general citizenry. Roughly, it goes something like this: soldiers are honorable heros = what soldiers do is honorable = the military is honorable = war is honorable = otherwise unforgivable government action is unquestionable. That's obviously a really simplistic way of saying it, but that's the end result. It creates war apologists.
Anti-war and anti-imperialism were strong sentiments after Vietnam. The government obviously had a problem with that, but with the burgeoning information age, it was difficult to convince people that war was some how ok. Instead, they pick the smallest instrument of war, the soldier, build a hero myth and kick the propaganda into high gear. The result is that they can still make unforgivable wars and people will largely support it at first, the ranks are staffed and in the end there are very few protests. You can even see people mentally grappling with this saying "I support the troops, but not the war".
An side effect of this is that some young men join the military believing the myth and eventually realize they're actually doing something horrible. It causes depression when it's far too late. And so you see soldier suicide rates go up. In the end you just have to look at the VA to see that the government doesn't believe their own myth.
I mean absolutely no disrespect to any soldiers for this, my issue is solely with the government, it’s not as much about defending freedom anymore. It's about fulfilling the agenda of the government and the stronghold they want to have in the world.Last edited by 7Seconds; 02-20-2020 at 07:08 AM.

I agree with many of the things you post here and respect much of what you have to say but I do agree with others that your derogatory comments do nothing to further your points. They simply make all, but the most extreme, not take you seriously or simply dismiss what you have to say. Just my two cents.

Ok that goes against what I have read but I certainly could be reading the wrong things. I have seen the percentage of veterans committing suicide reported up to twice as much as the regular population. Although it seems very branch specific as the Army and Marines have much higher rates than the Air Force and Navy.

I'll only add that anyone who talks like a homophobe -- or racist, or misogynist, no matter how he styles himself otherwise, doesn't really believe in individual freedom.
It's a pretty blatant hypocrisy in my book.“Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities.”

I tend to start off giving the nod toward respecting military and former military people. I'm certainly open to them proving me wrong. Military people tend to hold some very strong political views which can sway their actions in any given setting.
Don't even get me started on the way I feel about police and firefighters. Put it this way, I used to start off with giving them a nod towards respect; I tend towards the other direction now. Again, my mind is always open to being proved wrong about any position I hold.Envy is ignorance. Imitation is suicide.
