Glad to finally be past the movie stuff. Excited for the tournament, the tournament that never happened saga in Z was my favorite arch, shame that Champa's team has so many **** character designs on it though.

Things starting to get joocy brahs. Tournament stage has been created, super dragon balls are large as fuk (can only imagine what size the dragon that comes out of those things will be) and this Monaka guy is even stronger than Goku.

Next episode we get to see Piccolo and Gohan training too.

Not sure I like the Beerus potentially being a dick again, enjoy the chill Vegeta/Goku/Beerus/Whis vibe - I imagine they are setting up for another battle to save Earth vs. Beerus with that bit.

Still deciding what I want to happen to Gohan. On one hand it would be really insane for him to approach Goku and Vegeta's level after sitting on his ass for a decade - but on the other hand the level of beta oozing from him is disgusting at this point.

3 years of Goku and Vegeta training, I hope they show a couple episodes of that. Main reason I have liked Super is all the Goku/Vegeta time - they actually had very limited interaction outside the end of the Buu saga the entire lifetime of Z if you think about it.

They'll do something with Gohan as dumb as it will be at this point, guy has labeled himself as a cuck, but they went out of their way to talk about his "potential" again so he'll end up getting a boost despite only training for like a week.

I thought it was funny they brought up Uub, now that the whole SSJGod thing is going around that episode is pretty much non-cannon. Like Goku would leave everyone to go train some kid who might become as strong as Majin Buu, when he's at a point where he would whoop Buu's ass without even breaking a sweat - probably wouldn't even transform.

They say that schit all the time in the series. Then there's some ass pull power up or training method where they surpass their limits

^ while I'm of the opinion it is almost impossible to do a live DBZ, I would rather watch that ^ 1000x over before watching the travesty that was the actual DBZ film they made.

This weeks episode was like a long acid trip lol. And the animation looked different to me, not bad like earlier in the season, but the drawing style was like a different anime - anyone else get this vibe watching?

And if anyone can clarify what Vegeta said about sayin women, lmk cause I think my translation was fubar since it came out so quickly.

I'm keeping up with the series, but it's just not the same. It should be at One Punch Man tier of animation, considering it's history but in recent years other studios have stepped in and blown it out of the water.

The past few episodes have been better, but is it just because it's finally new material? And also, it feels more like a cartoon than an Anime. The lack of blood, a credible threat (I know that Saitama in OPM has no true adversaries, but that's the whole point of the show), and the childish jokes result in me just watching it to zone out and simply keep up to date with the lore. While other Animes are providing me with the EPIC factor I watch the genre for.

It's a shame really.

Anyway I knew this episode was going to be filler but good to see we are straight into the tournament in the next one. If this was DBZ we'd have 10 episodes of filler and have to watch Gohan play superhero or Krillin go on some lame side mission.

This isn't filler. It's directly related to the plot.
The quirkiness is reminding me of Dr. Slump or DB. Not nearly as funny as those were, but it's much better than I expected.

It's also understandable that the series is toned down. The most violent period of DB was during the later 80's and up to the mid 90's (though GT wasnt as violent as DB/Z from the Piccolo Daimao through Freeza arcs), when kids' and teens' anime were a lot more violent and graphic. They can't air a series like this for kids at the current time slot while having people being impaled, blown to bits, and children getting killed.
