Yeah bro, esp with that much weight. They can be a dangerous movement, lots of bad things can happen.

I would honestly use a little less weight if you keep hurting yourself with these.

On top of that, warmup really well, almost overdo it. And make sure you are properly hydrated so it minimizes the risk of a tear. Some Gatorade mixed with water always helps me.

    Good work.

Edit- Really liking your hanging pullup bar Did I have anything to do with that because I suggested it to you a while ago?

12 reps with 100 is mind = blown status.

    How is you grip strength?

You ever watch the show Ninja Warrior? I bet you could do that and climb the rope on that last level fast as ****.

Actually now that I think of it. Rope climbing might benefit you, esp weighted.

Best way to try and do that would be doing singles with rest in between sets. I bet he could get over 30 in around 20 min.

is a record for total weight, or most weight added?

If it's total weight, that means there is no one over 406 lbs who can do a pull up.

For Guinness World Records it is just the weight added. Min set by them was 200 lbs added

For Dale Harders Strength encyclopedia it is body weight plus weight added for a total.

yes, no one over 405 lbs has documented a qualified pull-up. If you find one be sure to let them know they broke a world record if they did.
