    Wrestler turns down WWE contract

Lucha Libre star Dos Caras, Jr. said he is not going to WWE after all as he recently signed a four-year contract with CMLL. Reportedly, WWE officials wanted Caras to go to their developmental program and "learn to work" first. Caras said if that was the case, he wasn't going to WWE. For several months, Caras said he was going to debut at the Royal Rumble.

    Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Before turning pro, Caras Jr. was a member of the Mexican national team in Greco-Roman wrestling for five years, and he placed third at the World Junior Championships in 1997 (held in Czech Republic), won the Central American and Caribbean Games three times and also won a medal at the Pan American Games. He was looking forward to competing in the Sydney 2000 Olympics, but due to lack of support and political and government problems Mexico could not send any representatives to the Olympic wrestling competition, so he turned pro instead.

Caras made his pro wrestling debut on October 11, 2000, teaming with his father Dos Caras to defeat El Azteca and Chiba, in an event promoted by the Japanese independent promotion Pro Wrestling Kageki. This card was held in Shimonoseki.

Dos has also done some MMA fighting - sometimes with his mask and sometimes without - for DEEP and PRIDE. His MMA training included training at Marco Ruas gym. He's incorporated submissions to his fighting style.

One of his most memorial matches was against Kengo Watanabe in DEEP:2nd Impact when he did one of his trademark wrestling moves the German suplex which broke Kengo Watanabe's arm.

I doubt WWE wanted him or had plans for him to debut at the Rumble. A lot of lucha guys claim stuff like that to get better contracts in Mexico.

Sorry to break it to you, but WWE has it's own "style" which is what I was referring to. Vince has an idea if it's not WWE it doesn't count. The reason R. Truth's push is gone despite his popularity is because Vince feels he can't "work". The thing is for wresters from other places need to be "re-trained". That's why they have FCW and then (WW)ECW...to learn to work WWE.

He made the right decision, Vince hates other styles especially lucha. The guy has been in the business 8 years+, so if he does not know how to work then he never will.

Of course as said by others here that means he does not know how to work 'WWE style'- which entails punching, kicking & doing the same basic moveset as everybody else, which is why nobody is over other than the top guys.

So the guy would be trading in a lucrative position in Mexico, to go to a company that wants to strip him of what makes him a star & any individuality, send him to their school for a few months, before deciding he is not getting over- due to their stupidity but he would get the blame, then he would be jobbing or get fired.

LOL No, thats Rey Bucanero, he was in Team Mexico for the TNA X-Cup.
And Dos Caras just like his dad and uncle are Legends in Mexico, I dont know how they would use him in WWE. As of right now there is not another guy in WWE that wrestles like him. I think he made the right decisition, although it would of been cool to see him here.
