Yeah, I'm posting in the section that includes mod applications. We'll see what happens. Are there any mods left?
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

If bb.com is going to abandon the equipment forum, I wonder if they would be open to another org taking it over? Might be a way to preserve all the info and rebuild the community.

I was flipping through the TNation forums the other day. I haven’t studied them in detail, but they appeared “newer”, setting the right tone, and staffed. Seems like someone like that could have an interest and be a good fit for taking it forward.

There may be others. Just a thought…

Hello. I haven't posted here in a long time. I hope everyone is well.

I have some stuff for sale if anyone is interested in the Phoenix area. Ironmaster dumbbells, Ironmaster Super Bench and a Powertech WB-LS. All are listed on Phoenix Craigslist. Send me an IM here if you want more details.

I am well. I hope the same for you. I'm no longer lifting. Too many injuries have caught up with me. Now it's hiking and cardio for me. I'm surprised no one has jumped on my Ironmaster bench or dumbbells. They've been on Craigslist and Nextdoor for a week with no one interested. I looked at the Ironmaster site and that set with the stand is almost $900 now. Wow!!

Sorry to hear that, but at least you are staying active in other ways! Yeah man, the market for equipment has changed quite a bit since COVID, things that I thought would sell quickly take MUCH longer and other things seem to sell within a day. Bad timing to list those things, you would have made an absolute killing had you sold that stuff in mid 2020-2021 when there was an equipment shortage.

Yeah I can't sell a Rep Fitness FB-5000 bench. My price is reasonable. Not even any lowball offers. Not sure anyone even wants it. May be the all-time best reviewed budget-friendly flat bench in great condition. I'm not even hurting for the money. Would just like to see it go to a good home because I don't need it anymore.

I'm hoping some of the regulars are still checking in here. My training is evolving into more general fitness, geared towards mobility. Golf is my past time and I'm losing flexibility at 57. I have a functional trainer but I'm also looking into incorporating some band work into my training. Looking for added flexibility in hips and chest/shoulders. I've never used bands so I'm not sure where to start or what kinds to get. I see people using shorter ones for banded duck walks and other exercises like that for lower body. I also want some longer ones for chest pulls and rotational work. I may incorporate them into deadlifts at some point. Anyone have any recommendations on where to start and what kinds/sets to get?

I'm eyeing some 20" deadlift bands from Serious Steel. Price is decent and 20" doesn't seem to be commonly available. They have longer bands too, but I have this Amazon set that has served me well for a couple years. Pretty minimal investment. I'm sure they are the same as many other bands from China sold on Amazon.

If you want the tube kind then Bodylastics is my go-to.

Thanks for the suggestion, $30 doesn't seem like a bad starting point at all.

For the banded duck walks and DLs: Sure. But, for chest pulls and rotational work wouldn't the functional trainer be better? Rotational work is one reason I'm getting a functional trainer--someday.

The wife's been starting to workout with me and tends to bogart the FT. Plus I like options/variety.

Never, Never discourage anyone from getting more equipment! After all, this is still the equipment forum. At least for now.

Usually I go through cycles, periods where I think I'm content followed by selling everything and buying all new equipment LOL

Could be some luck on St. Patty's Day, but the forum is looking mighty clean so far upon looking at the main workout equipment page, lets hope it stays like this.

Someone talk me off the ledge, thinking about buying an American Barbell Chewy bar. With the recent acquisition of the Arnold plates I'd really like to start using them, but the thought of sliding those on/off the heavily ribbed TPB sleeves is frightening. Smooth AB sleeves would be awesome, or another REP Deep Knurl power bar but I'm still trying to stay "Made in USA". Aside from Aggro 2x-3x not sure there is much else out there that fits the smooth sleeve catagory.

It looks like a sweet bar! I can't talk you out of it. Aggro 2x-3x isn't smooth sleeve, is it? I think all of Rogue's bars have ribbed sleeves. Regardless, I'd go AB over Rogue for the build quality alone.

Yeah I don't think Rogue is completely smooth, but they are far less ribbed than the TPB. Defnitely leaning towards AB, those Arnold's would look good next to those super cool tig welds. Hmmn, we'll see how long I hold out LOL

The AB Chewy Bar is basically like my Elite Bar with all the same features except with more bite/aggressive knurl to it, having a stainless steel bar with those smooth sleeves are well worth the price of admission and you wouldn't want to go back to other coated various bars in my opinion. That said, the price did increase from when I bought my stainless steel bar, but if you're good with the funds then I would definitely confirm it to be a solid purchase.

    Very true!

Tough decision though, REP is close to $200 cheaper with aggressive knurl but of course the overall quality is a different world altogether.

Hard to tell how much I have invested currently, because I spent so many years buying used and flipping for profit. Then wash, rinse, repeat to upgrade my equipment. Nice Barbell is easy to justify though, one of those purchases you'll likely not regret since you use it so frequently.

Well that didn't last long, personally I hold all of you responsible for this one. I'll let you know what the AB Chewy bar looks like soon LOL

Edit: They got me later in the evening with a 5% off for leaving something in the cart. Just in case anyone else considers an order in the future...

Good call Urban! You're gonna dig that bar no doubt...I've been procrastinating big time on cleaning up the bar on my Elite version and still the stainless steel looks sharp on it, which will no doubt be the same story for yours. When you do get the Chewy Bar I'll be curious to know how the bite of the knurling is on it...the passive yet grippy knurling on the Elite PB feels perfect in my opinion, but I also like knurling with a good bite as well.
