Texas historically has one of the worst voter turnouts in the country. Something like 56% of eligible voters in 2016 voted; 8.7 millionish, putting us around the 47th lowest.

In 2018, Beto vs. Cruz, Beto lost 4.0 to Cruz 4.2 million.

In the 2020 early vote, we have already surpassed the 2016 and 2018 entire vote (8.9 million). With some of the largest counties (Harris- Houston, Bexar- San Antonio etc.) automatically mailing every 65+ a mailin ballot. Harris is 40% Hispanic, 20% black; Ft. Bend now 20%+ black and 20% Hispanic. Bexar is 50%+ Hispanic with a D Mayor.

With the oil crash, rural areas like Midland Odessa have lost population and cities such as Austin and DFW have gained.

Beto in 2018 registered many Hispanics along the border, El Paso, The Valley (Brownsville, McAllen) and the border got hit and is getting hit hard by COVID.

If Trump doesn't carry Katy, The Woodlands, Ft Worth, Flower Mound and East Texas by a lot, he is in trouble. I think Biden made a mistake by not trying to leverage Betos network. Beto is vying for a future governors race, he has a big network.

It is feasible TX could go Blue if Houston and the Border turnout.... if Biden played it correctly, he could have flipped Texas.
