I've used a press before, I do NOT recommend it as it leaves a mark on the handle.
Straightening bent handles:
While there is still some visible bend in the handle, most of the time the worst bend is actually at the ends. Ideally you straighten both, but you get the most bang for your buck by straightening the heads. What I do that works very well and does not damage the bells is attempt to push the heads back apart on the side where they are closest to each other, by wedging lumber between them.
Straigthening the Heads
1. flip the dumbbell over so the bent side is down
2. Place as many 2x4s between the heads as will fit; sometimes you'll need a half sliver (or piece of plywood)
3. Drive the 2x4s all the way to the handle by tapping them in with a sledgehammer. Because the roundhead shape, the further you push those 2x4s in, the more the heads spread apart.
4. Take the wood out, and start over adding a new piece of wood to accommodate for the larger spread. Repeat this process as many times as needed.
If the handle still needs to be corrected, you can do the following
1. Stack 2-3 pieces of 2x4 next to each other on the ground
2. "Drop" the dumbbell such that the bend of the handle strikes the 2x4s
I say drop, but I usually "follow" the weight until it strikes the wood to keep it level. I hold the dumbbell with straps/webbing instead of holding it by the heads.
Using lumber like this is a very safe way to remedy your handles. Any time you do metal on metal, you put dents on your dumbbell, and you risk snapping the handle at the head (I've seen it happen). You might have to go through several pieces of 2x4 in the process, but your DBs will remain unharmed.
FYI, remember that USA stamped dumbbells have a thicker handle. They are harder to bend, but also harder to straighten.York History - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dbRIGo0tZlrume27s3jusN2gtuEfLgQXOt1UPTZUfnI/edit

My goal is to have so much equipment that I don't have room to workout. I am almost there. :)

To be fair I wouldn't pay much for anything vintage these days, it was a short lived hobby. Maybe when my lifting slows down I'll buy some to decorate the walls, but I'm still eyeballing new equipment so it's better spent in other places. Would be neat to have a pair of Paramount plates on the wall next to Columbo deadlifting though.
