They used to do all kinds of manipulating photos. Double exposures and all sorts of crazy stuff. It just took longer and looked a bit more clumsy, though some of them are really well done.

I think that's pretty much a generic truism. I don't think there has ever been a time and place that was great for everyone, at least not during written history.

Utopian socialists argue that they will, someday, create Utopia by having reeeeelly "smart" people (ie: leftist indoctrinated elite college graduates) tell the rest of us how to live. It will then, and only then, be just great for ALL! (Yes, sarcasm!)

I should further state that the 60's and 70's, et seq. have been great. Back then, we played our own games, outside from sun up to sun down 9 months out of the year. And we'd get out and 'blow the stink off of us (Dad's saying) with hiking, sled riding, rock climbing, skating, etc. during the winter time.

Of course, I remember them.

60s here in Japan the only radio services which were broadcasting Western music were "American Forces Network (AFN)" and Voice of America (VOA) but unfortunately I didn't understand English yet. (My family didn't have a record player until late 70s. Japanese AM radio played mostly our local music besides my father always listened to baseball games.)

In early 70s, English Class started in school when I was 13 and also a few local FM radio stations became available, which were great sources of quality Western music for not-rich families like us. (my late father was a soldier, JSDF's infantry man.)

The Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the Seekers, it's already a decade after their debuts when the first time I listened to them....and immediately I fell in love with them.
