All I seen was him touching one cops arm with a phone and the shove came after the fact. Perhaps I am looking at the wrong angle, not sure if the amount of force was justified. It didn't appear that he pushed him very hard in my opinion? That being said don't reach out towards a cop especially in a situation like that because they honestly have no idea what the hell you are doing and may attempt.

I've encountered both, and I think ubiquitous cameras are the greatest thing to happen in law enforcement history. It helps identify the bad actors and protect the good ones.

The fact that so many police forces for a long time tried to prevent themselves from being recorded was always telling for me.

Jtny my gym owner sent me a text, inviting me to train already, even though he ain’t 100percent open. I still paid all my membership fees too.

We have some speak easy gyms open here that I've been invited to, too, but haven't bothered since I can train at home. I don't care how old or what color the guy was, he made some suspicious moves towards geared up, on edge police. Any guesses why they were suspended without pay and charged with assault? I think you should tell the Mayor, Chief of police and Governor this little gem of information, they may change their mind and agree with you that the amount of force was justified and it's ok to push elderly folk around and leave them leaking on the ground. Would you feel the same way if this was your family member?

I saw a guy do something kinda stupid that looked threatening (old men can still do damage), I saw one reactive push, then it looked like the cop was surprised the guy busted his head open, turn around.......

I actually agree with this, I watched the video and this guy knew what he was doing and reached towards the officer after being told to back off. I'm the 1st one to decry when the cops are wrong and overstep their bounds but in this case I don't see anything wrong.

I'm glad I'm not the only one, I don't feel good about saying it, but $hit is crazy now and to answer MT whether I'd be thinking differently if it were my relative? I sure hope my blood relative isn't dumb enough to get involved in this $hit and do something like that at this time, that's about all I got. If so, he better be one tough cookie who ain't scared of covid and can maintain balance, I mean geez, it may be a right to be out there, but he seemed "vulnerable", looked like a dangerous place to be, especially with COVID in the midst?????????

I am not normally one to jump in on political subjects. I am troubled by recent events, but I feel like the narrative being pushed in not really addressing the issue. I feel the issue is abuse of power by police and the 'fraternity' of sorts that protects and allows this type of behavior in the police community. I dont feel the issue defined by race.

Yet the shame of this is no longer are any 'honest' dialogues permitted. If you do not fully subscribe to the progressive views, one is labeled racist.

The ties between George Floyd and Derek Chauvin were abrasive long before the police officer kneeled on Floyd’s neck until he died, according to a former coworker.

The two Minnesota men “bumped heads” at El Nuevo Rodeo, a Minneapolis nightclub where they worked together, David Pinney told CBS News.

“It has a lot to do with Derek being extremely aggressive within the club with some of the patrons, which was an issue,” Pinney said, claiming the two men knew each other “pretty well.”

Club owner Maya Santamaria previously told KSTP that she had paid Chauvin to sit outside in his police car during his off-hours for almost 17 years. Floyd, she said, worked inside as a security guard.

Santamaria told CBS News that she believed Chauvin was “afraid and intimidated” by black people.

Chauvin has since been fired from the Minneapolis Police Department and charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter in Floyd’s May 25 death.

Three other officers have also been fired and charged with aiding and abetting murder.

Floyd’s death has caused ripple effects around the country, both in widespread anti-police brutality protests and in police reform, including multiple departments banning chokehold arrests.

Ben Crump, the attorney representing Floyd’s family, has called for Chauvin’s charges to be upgraded to first-degree murder after learning that the two men knew each other.

I think juries can be given instructions such that they can choose between them. I'm not sure this will be a particularly difficult case to try, between the history and the witnesses. Of course I could be wrong.

Considering it will be doubtful to get anything resembling an impartial jury, you’re probably right.

I’d love to see the guy put under the jail. But, the prisoner has rights, as well the guarantee of a trial, presuming innocence prior to the trial.


These are the situations that test the strength of our rights. We either have them, or we don’t. There is no gray area imo.
