  • Pressed for time - Accessory movements -> Rest Pause Style

    Hi All,

I'm quite new to powerlifting-type training. After training purely to reach a certain physique I became bored with the "frailty", all show no go kind of thing.

    Now, My problem; I love...

    Dude,

    I SWEAR to god.

My Upper days aren't too special.

Anything that involves chest, delt & tri = Bench press 3x5, Incline 3x8, Pushdowns 3x12 (Side raises, okay okay).
    After that I...
  • "Starting Strength" / Greyskull - 3x5 Bench Issue

    Hi All,

I've got a pretty good "bodybuilding foundation" as the PT's at the gym I started out at chucked every guy on a brosplit.
Needless to say, I've never really took the time (/wasn't made...

Oh, surely! But if that happens I will (of course) vary my training by using lower rep RP training, or regular (pyramid or straight) sets.
For now I enjoy the myo's tho as they allow me to cram a...

There's research that shows a hypertrophic response with loads as low as 30% of 1RM (20% when using blood-flow-restriction), right?
Think is, I've been using Myo-reps for purely hypertrophy and I...

I'm honestly using myo-reps (and RP) for almost everything now. I don't know why, but my recovery ability is amazing when it comes to higher rep work (even close to failure). I might drop some iso's...

Thanks for the reply! I was thinking about the conventional/RDL split as deadlifting 2x a week might be pushing it.
For now I'll keep the 3 sets @ compounds as I know my recovery ability is fine...

    Hi Guys,

As a novice my trainer put me on a bro-split & I have the feeling there’s still a lot of strength to be gained. However, I want to keep the volume on assistance lifts high as a means of...

    Thanks for pitching in!

I wouldn't mind that at all. The whole PPRPPRR-setup is mostly dreaming as I'm getting my masters degree and work full-time.
So, the rest days will be auto-implemented &...

    Push-Pull "Movement Check".

    Hi guys,

I'm building a Push-Pull workout template (upper body push + quad and calf | Upper body pull + hamstrings) because I have been using the UL template for ages.
    I'm not completely sure...

I'm afraid you don't quite get me. You have a separate leg day, which I won't have!

Push/Pull = Upper body push + Quad & Calf & Upper body pull + Hamstrings.

Don't know if it's the fastest or the best way. But it's a TUT thing if you slow your reps (especially negatives) shortening rest times a.k.a. density training has been around for ages as well.

No, your relative volume is very out of whack.
No need to do that much at all.

    Get on a proven routine.

It can be done, if you thrive on pretty low volume per muscle group & don't pay (too much) attention to accessory exercises.
    I'd opt for a full-body twice a week containing of;

    Squat variation....

I don't particularly like the way this program is set up, but first things first.
For most people not gaining muscle is because of their diet, not the exercise.
JK202 is right on the money here.

Depends, right? For pure strength the legpress will always be outdone by squats. But for pure physique/looks? I honestly prefer (MOST) people to use a leg press variation. A lot of people at my gym...

it's more of a bodybuilding thing, for sure! The recovery seems to be an issue with upper/lower atm, as in, my hams take over from my quads a lot on pressing motions (extremely long legs) so I...
