Mine came with a crack in a non-load bearing spot and they recommended black flex seal glue. Worked fine. I'd give it or a similar product a shot.

Thanks for the pic. Have you considered filling the crack with sealant? I'd use that instead of duct tape - or perhaps both. I wonder if they used less dense foam for the lighter bar. Not a good call...
