Having handled a bunch of fake and real Daytonas myself I can tell you none of the fakes had a functional chrono but looked very accurate...

Actually having a functional chrono is significantly rarer to have in a fake, unless it's a high grade fake. The chance of his watch being fake and having a functional chrono are slim enough for me....
