personal opinion from having owned 01 cbr 600. spent about a week riding one of my cousins r6's when i went to visit him last summer.

all of my friends ride gixxers and my limited seat time has...

if you are gonna be on the track go with a cbr or r1. very much more of race bikes. gixxer and zx10 are great bikes as well, just a little more neutral feeling probably a little more forgiving.
