Excess fructose, acidity, and not enough fiber could certainly contribute to heartburn. Although I agree that this is likely a symptom of other food choices and maybe not enough water.

LOL, but true. If you need sweetness, add some whole fruit as well instead of juice, such as kiwi or banana.

Good article that certainly outlines a lot of the reasons I would cite, although there could be some differences in carbon emissions and overall efficiency that favor grain-finished being more...

IMO it's not so much the beef itself with McDonalds, it's what typically accompanies it. Which, in fairness, is typically the context of those comments. Although there is a wide spectrum between fast...

Agreed, and had Kresser done his homework he could've easily shot that down, as you just did. Problem is he was stuck talking only protein, and not actual leucine. He also showed ignorance of...

Good post, and I mostly agree. Although when pressed by Kresser on whether meat/dairy should be removed altogether, even if combined in small quantities with a whole food diet with a variety of...

Also agreed. I thought Kresser held his own in the first hour on the issue of dairy, while Wilks played semantic games (kinda like what you see on online forums lol) to try to catch him in a gotcha....

Anybody listen to the follow up debate on Rogan with Chris Kressler and James Wilks? I had a long drive today so I was excited to have a 4 hour episode to help kill the time, but it ended up being...

315 is a pretty good squat (by average joe standard, not powerlifter), assuming that's for reps and going at least to parallel. Your other lifts are on the low side. Which is why I and others are...

I should've been more specific when I said "what your lifts are". What I meant was, what are squat/bench/dead'ing for 4-6 reps? That should give us an idea of how much muscle you might have.

Onion and garlic powder are good with just about everything. I use them almost universally, regardless of the type of cuisine.

For Euro-centric flavors, add oregano, thyme (esp with beef), and/or...

Yeah . . . No. That's super fast. 1 lb/week would be an outlier itself but maybe possible. No way you are gaining 2 pounds/week, that is freak level.

Maybe briefly list a typical day of eating...

I'm no chemistry major, but it kinda makes sense. Both Nitrogen and proteins are Nitrogen molecules. Therefore if you eat excess protein, your body will excrete it somehow. Hence the ammonia breath. ...

Agreed and agreed. You can still pick up on Paleo dogma in his statements, regardless of how sound they are (or not). What I found false was when he said that legumes have low nutrient density, and...

Haha for sure. In fairness, I'm not sure how you could go about estimating the number of animals killed in defense of fruits and veggies. Even if you were to poll farmers and extrapolate out, I don't...

There is some truth to Kresser's statement regarding deaths to animals in vegetable/grain/fruit production. 7.5 billion would not surprise me. Vertebrate (non-insect animal) pests are arguably bigger...

Micronutrients are often confused with phytonutrients. Micronutrients are elemental (calcium, zinc, etc) and phytonutrients have names that most have never heard of.
